Community Highlights: Meet Alberto Perez of E-Commerce/ Dropshipping

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alberto Perez

Alberto, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Thank you so much for the opportunity. Let me tell you a little bit about my story. My name is Alberto Perez, currently 22 years old and I do dropshipping for a living. It wasn’t easy. In 2019 I used to work at a grocery store making $200 a week. I was 16 and it was good money at the time for my age but I wanted more. That same year my friend introduced me to a business model called “Dropshipping”, part of the ecommerce space. He was making thousands a day and I couldn’t believe it so I gave it a shot. I failed numerous times to the point that I gave up. In 2020 I came back to it since I had a better paying job so I could afford to spend more in the business. So many sleepless nights learning and taking as many notes possible. I opened a new online store & with the new knowledge and capital that I had, it worked out.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wish I could say that it was an easy road but it wasn’t. When I got into this business I was making $200 a week from my job and in the first day I spent $100 to market the brand that I was running at the time but of course it wasn’t successful since I didn’t have a lot of knowledge and I thought that it was easy. Losing $100 that first day & countless thousands made me quit and I thought that it wasn’t for me at the time.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
What I do for a living it’s called dropshipping. You’re basically the middle man. You select a niche where you want to sell and select a product. After, you make a store and drive traffic into it to make sales. I been doing this since 2019 so I been doing this for 5 years now. I teach people on how to do it step by step as well. Offering multiple 1 on 1s sessions, etc. Currently I have a group of students that I teach and I’m still looking to teach more people!

How do you think about happiness?
What truly makes me happy is seeing my students succeed. No better feeling than them sending me a screenshot when they make their first sale online. It makes me happy because I know that what I know works. They get so excited when they make their first couple of sales and honestly just helping out people in general makes me happy.
