Meet Chef Trenica Ashley of Croissant Ville Personal Chef & Catering in Central

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chef Trenica Ashley.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Trenica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
With a background in Chemistry, I’m a native New Orleanian that came to Houston about 17 years ago. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Texas Southern University where I then moved on to work in the field of a Chemistry, from there I realized my love and passion for people would not allow me to be place in that “white jacket” but that of helping people being place into the same “white jacket” I was in. I moved on to becoming a recruiter for college students in the same line of work. From there I continue to stay in my studies as a QC in pharmaceutical research. As time moved forward, I knew something within my heart was eager for something, not necessarily mixing and studying chemicals, but the study of food, and the science behind it.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA so food came natural to me since childhood, but my yearn for knowledge allowed me to continue my education and obtain an AA of Culinary at Houston Community College.

As I went to culinary school, I worked as an Executive Chef at a Private River Oaks School, running 2 kitchens along with staff. My passion for life and always wanting to learn more made me move forward where I currently uphold my position as a Chef and Nutritionist. Most importantly continuing my brand/business, which I have had for 7 years. I have catered to the most elite professionals of Houston, to celebrities and your neighborhood friendly “I don’t have the time to cook” families. I meal plan for people of all diets. (Vegans, vegetarians, fitness trainers, weight loss, and more) And in the greatness of all that I cater for many events, dinner parties of sizes 2 – 200, one of my favorites right now are my cooking class hosted in Eado (East Downtown) at Etta’s Kitchen and my Kid and Adult Cooking Class Private Parties (trademark) !!

Chef Trenica Ashley, one of the coolest, sweetest chefs around. Her passion and love for food, family, and people is rooted deep within her. A native “NOLA girl” (New Orleans, LA) born and raised in the most vibrant cities in the US. When you hear New Orleans you hear “I LOVE that place!!!” which is everything that describes this FUN chef! Chef Trenica Ashley has gone from the eccentric science world to becoming a free spirited super Cali fragalistic expila dope Chef!

Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been a smooth road. A few bumps of humbleness, but I’m a firm believer in the world goes around, so what goes around comes around for those of a great energy.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Croissant Ville Personal Chef & Catering story. Tell us more about the business.
I’m a personal chef, caterer, cooking instructor, nutritionist by weekly early mornings, and a chef to kids. My specialty is your specialty, lol…. Honestly, you tell me what you dream of and I will make it happen.

I’m known for what I want people to know me for, each person probably gets a different perspective of me but for the most part, I believe I’m known for being the coolest, sweetest, happiest person you’ll ever met.

My most proud accomplishment, would be my ability to change it up, as they say “If your dreams don’t scare you, there not big enough”. I’m always learning new things, I know what I know initially, but advancing and coming up with more is what I’m proud of. What sets me apart would be that I will bring the party to you. Where I’m from we know how to have a good time so FUN and EXCITEMENT is all in when it comes to this Chef.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see my industry continuing to satisfy people’s taste buds of all ages, but mostly teaching people of all ages “how to cook”
