Today we’d like to introduce you to Thanh Nguyen
Hi Thanh, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my business about three years ago as a hobby and creative outlet while working a corporate job in the oil & gas and tech industry. Throughout the years, a few things that helped get me to where I am today are participating in events that had raffle giveaways to market and promote my candles, becoming a vendor at various pop-up markets, collaborating with local artists and businesses, and constantly researching new ideas. Being naturally curious and social, I am always attending several local events that I feel would be an opportunity to meet people, educate myself, and collaborate with other businesses. I am selling my candles in local retailers/restaurants and would like to continue expanding and making my products available and accessible to a wider network. My mission is to provide high-quality non-toxic products and educate people on the benefits of clean living.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The creative part of the business comes easily to me, but the implementation and execution process can be challenging if you lack resources and preparation. A few setbacks I’ve faced and learned from are rushing to launch a product too soon before the proper quality and market tests have been done and taking on too many projects simultaneously.
I believe in dreaming big but leaving room for error when things don’t go as smoothly as planned. In business, it’s important to be flexible and prepare for rapid changes whenever necessary.
We’ve been impressed with Enchand Maison, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Enchand Maison was created with an assemblage of passions for traveling the world and enjoying the simple luxuries of life – culture, style, & design. The mission is to spark enchantment in your life and home by promoting clean, sustainable living by providing affordable luxury, high-quality, non-toxic products.
Many are unaware that several candles and products on the market contain toxins, such as paraffin, parabens, phthalates, and other harmful chemicals we use daily, so it is one of my missions to educate people on the effects of using toxic products.
Scents are very subjective, but I have several unique fragrances that emit a strong throw so there is always a favorite scent for every person.
I have launched a new campaign to promote sustainability by recycling Enchand Maison glass jars through the business. For every jar recycled and returned to Enchand Maison, customers will receive a $1 credit towards their next purchase.
A new product that launched is a “Bourgeois” box that includes a sample of all my products. I am also working on formulating a new all-natural skin balm made with beeswax that acts as a protective barrier on the skin from environmental irritants and harsh weather.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My biggest supporters have been customers who love my products, business partnerships, business owners, and friends/family who have been there throughout my journey. Whether it’s simply following my social media accounts, purchasing/promoting my products, sharing my business with others, connecting me with potential opportunities, and even constructive feedback – all are greatly appreciated. Everything counts when you’re a small business owner.
