Exploring Life & Business with Mayra Sanchez – Garcia of Rose Lane Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mayra Sanchez – Garcia

Hi Mayra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am Mayra, the founder and CEO of Rose Lane Wellness, a passionate wellness leader with over 10 years of teaching experience in corporate settings. With certifications in Hatha Yoga, Primordial Sound Meditation™, and Ayurveda Perfect Health™ from the Chopra Center, alongside a Spa and Wellness Management certification from the University of California Irvine (UCI) and Social Media Marketing training from Stanford University, I am dedicated to bringing holistic wellness to the Greater Houston Area.

My journey began in the high-stress environment of the oil and gas industry, where I served as an engineer and mentor. Seeking relief from professional chaos, I turned to yoga and meditation, discovering a profound connection with myself. This personal transformation inspired me to dive deeper into the sciences of Ayurveda, yoga, and meditation, leading to the creation of Rose Lane Wellness in 2020.

At Rose Lane Wellness, I aim to help local professionals, students, parents, veterans, and senior citizens manage stress and achieve a state of relaxation and happiness. My background in engineering, coupled with my wellness expertise, allows me to coach and mentor individuals towards healthier, happier, and more successful lives.

The pandemic highlighted the critical need for support during times of crisis, reinforcing my mission to share the wisdom of Ayurveda, yoga, and meditation. Through my journey from tension to serenity, I am committed to guiding others on their path to wellness and growth.

Join me at Rose Lane Wellness, where we transform stress into serenity and promote holistic well-being for all.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has been anything but smooth, marked by significant challenges and personal growth. As an engineering professional, I faced high levels of stress due to continuous technical audits and tight deadlines in a demanding corporate environment. Yoga and meditation became my lifelines, helping me find balance and stability amidst the chaos.

Transitioning from a structured corporate role to becoming a small business entrepreneur brought its own set of challenges. One of the biggest hurdles has been honing my selling strategies. As an introvert, stepping out of my comfort zone to network, promote my services, and articulate my vision has been daunting. Expressing my voice and heart to the world, particularly in a sales context, has required immense effort and self-confidence.

Additionally, navigating the entrepreneurial landscape has meant acquiring new skills in marketing, financial management, and client engagement. The learning curve has been steep, but each struggle has reinforced my resilience and commitment to my mission. These experiences have taught me the importance of perseverance, continuous learning, and staying true to my passion for wellness.

Despite the challenges, these obstacles have been instrumental in shaping my journey, helping me grow both personally and professionally.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Yes! Definitively.

No. 1 – The Importance of Community Connection: The pandemic showed us the critical role of staying connected with our community and loved ones for mental health. Isolation highlighted how much we rely on social interactions for emotional balance.

No. 2 – Essential Connection with Nature: Engaging with nature is vital for both physical and mental health. During the pandemic, the challenges of virtual work emphasized the need to balance screen time with outdoor activities to maintain overall wellness. I started to walk everyday.

No. 3 – Cherishing the Present Moment: The uncertainty and brevity of life became more apparent. Sharing love and living fully in the present moment are essential for happiness and a sense of completeness.

No. 4 – Adaptability and Resilience: The crisis taught us the importance of being adaptable. Businesses and individuals had to quickly find new ways to operate, highlighting the value of a flexible mind in the face of unexpected challenges.

No. 5 – Prioritizing Self-Care: The pandemic reinforced the necessity of prioritizing self-care and wellness. Practices such as meditation, yoga, and mindfulness became essential tools for managing stress and maintaining mental health.

No. 6 – Digital Engagement: While virtual connections were challenging for me, they also opened new opportunities for reaching a broader audience. Learning to effectively use digital platforms and social media became essential for sustaining business operations and personal connections.
