Today we’d like to introduce you to Jorge Sanchez
Hi Jorge, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
As a former college football athlete, I always had a drive to excel and do everything I could to succeed. In going to college I got my Bachelors in Business Administration – Finance, and once I got done with my college football career I chose to dive into the insurance world. In building up a business in insurance. it has required me to utilize everything I’ve learned from my college experiences, from grit and discipline, to marketing and relationship building in order to build a book of business that spans across the state.
In getting into Insurance, I realize that Insurance is the driving force behind the world operating how it is. It’s what allows people to buy their dream home, purchase a vehicle, or run a business and mitigate risk.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not, and it isn’t supposed to be either. I entered into the insurance game during a hard market, where rates were high, options were low, and the mortgage world slowed. In addition to that, you start building a book from zero – no clients, no referral partners, and no deals. It requires you to get out of that comfort zone and start building from the ground up, and that requires hard work and long hours, with a bunch of rejection and hard lessons. To me though, that’s been the best part of growing a book of business. Where others see problem, I’m looking for solutions and ways to overcome them, and that’s what separates those who succeed versus those who don’t.
