Hi Wild Thoughts, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Our story began with a shared desire for something new and adventurous that could also honor the essence of our friendship. We wanted to create a space that felt inclusive, where listeners could feel like they were right there with us, sharing in the laughs and the genuine moments. Our mission quickly became clear: we wanted to empower moms and women to stay true to themselves, even after the transformative experience of having children.
We were driven by the idea of crafting a platform that was both fun and empathetic. We aimed to challenge the often unrealistic and pressure-filled narratives society can impose on parents. Through our platform, we hoped to provide a refreshing perspective that made our listeners feel understood and less isolated in their experiences. It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re thrilled to continue building a community where authenticity and connection are at the forefront.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of our biggest challenges has been navigating communication and working together as friends. When you mix business with personal relationships, there’s always a risk, and our primary concern was ensuring that our friendship remained intact. We were both apprehensive about how working together might affect our relationship, but we were committed to making it work.
Despite the hurdles, we’ve learned to navigate them by striving to understand each other’s perspectives and compromising when necessary. No new venture is without its bumps, but these challenges have only added depth to our journey and provided us with valuable stories to tell. We’ve also established a system of constant support and “safe word” calls to give ourselves a much-needed break whenever things get too intense. This approach has been essential in maintaining both our professional goals and our personal bond.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Jamie: I work in the travel industry and consider myself a wanderlust traveler. My passion for exploring new places has led me to dive into various entrepreneurial ventures, where I channel my creativity into meaningful projects. I’m particularly proud of how I’ve managed to blend my love for travel with my entrepreneurial spirit, creating ventures that are both innovative and purposeful.
Sydney: I am currently juggling a full-time job while pursuing my degree in teaching. My primary focus is on working with children, as I find immense fulfillment in contributing to their growth and development.
We are proud of balancing our roles as full-time moms, employees, and students while also hosting a podcast. Our podcast aims to inspire others who are navigating similar challenges, showing that it’s not impossible to achieve your dreams even when your plate is full.
What sets us apart is our shared belief that overcoming the notion of what’s impossible can lead to extraordinary achievements. We don’t see ourselves as fundamentally different from others; rather, we believe that once you embrace the idea that the impossible is actually doable, you’ve already set yourself apart.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
It might sound cliché, but patience really is key. Just take the plunge and go for it! Surrounding yourself with a supportive network is crucial—people who genuinely want to see you succeed can make all the difference. It’s important to believe in your dreams and have a strong support system to share in the highs, lows, and everything in between. Remember, the end goal is to pursue your passion with happiness and determination. Having that kind of support and resilience will make the journey a lot more rewarding and fulfilling.
