Daily Inspiration: Meet Daniela Cordero

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Cordero

Hi Daniela, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Photographs have always been very nostalgic and special to me. To this day I enjoy going through photos and reliving moments of my childhood in Cuba, and that’s the reason I fell in love to capture special moments in other people’s lives that they get to look back at.
I started my photography business by taking free pictures of my friends and family and slowly I grew my clientele as I got more experience. It has been a rollercoaster and a learning experience since I started DC Photography in 2023 but I am extremely grateful for the support through my first year as an official business.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a business is never easy. There have been many struggles along the way specially this being my first year and being a nursing student at the same time. Time management has been one of the most difficult parts of having a photography business. With numerous deadlines and tests for nursing school adding editing time and sessions to my schedule has been overwhelming at times. Regardless, having the opportunity to meet new people and freezing their milestones and social moments in time is makes me feel extremely grateful.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I do a little bit of everything! I love portraying love and happiness in photos. I currently capture people’s special moments such as elopements, birthdays, newborns and graduation. I am most proud of how far I have come in my first year as a photographer and how much I have grown and learned. I am also extremely proud of being able to handle school and running my business at the same time. What sets me apart from others is my dedication to my craft, my desire to keep improving and to always provide the best service possible. With my experience working with costumers I make sure every session feels effortless and fun.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Sharing my story is something I will always cherish, growing up in Cuba I never thought I would be able to accomplish such big goals such as running my own business and attending school to be a nurse. Although it gets difficult at times to manage all of this I am forever grateful for the support I have received and would not change anything about my journey.
