Today we’d like to introduce you to Italy Knapper
Hi Italy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started as a HCC student going to school for film. While going to the School I’ve had Access to Industry Level Equipment. This gave me the idea to put the equipment to use since I won’t have it once I graduate. I decided to create my Own Talk Show “Art Yap”. When coming up with this show I thought about what I would like to watch if I was the viewer.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road there are struggles. We currently are no longer filming in the Studio we started with at School because Management has limited Access. We also have no access to the professional equipment anymore and the result is the decrease of quality. So we have resorted to filming in a small study room that can barely fit any equipment. Also, being able to pay for activities for Guest that comes on the show is difficult since everything is being paid out of pocket. So, I’ve created a GoFundMe hoping that others will contribute. And lastly, Being able to find consistent crew members. Since this is a non paid job many people aren’t willing to help with production.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the creative Director of “Art Yap”. I’ve created the show to give upcoming artists a fun and unique platform to express themselves. Many People will like to get to know their favorite Creative outside of their craft but don’t know how. I created this show for creatives to show their personality, and make sure they have fun doing it!
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the Community and how down to earth most people are. What i like least about the city is how bad the roads are and the homeless population.
