Community Highlights: Meet Jehu & Jojo Trumbly of Affordable Air Repair

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jehu & Jojo Trumbly

Hi Jehu & Jojo, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We started Affordable Air Repair in 2018 (3 days after we got married). It has been a whirlwind blessing ever since. We have been able to serve thousands of local residents and businesses in the North Houston area. Affordable Air Repair is a family owned, licensed, insured and local company.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I (Jojo) was a school teacher before I went full time with my husband (Jehu) who was a full time service technician. We did not have any prior education is business, so having to learn as we went was very difficult in the beginning. The first few years it felt we were being more reactive than proactive. There is a lot of things that need to take place to start a business the proper legal way that we had to learn. We really wanted to take our time to make sure everything we do is a solid foundation for our future both personally and professionally.

As you know, we’re big fans of Affordable Air Repair. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Affordable Air Repair is a local HVAC company in North Houston Texas. We specialize in mini splits, custom duct design, new installations and maintenance for both commercial and residential clients. What sets us apart from other HVAC companies is our mission to go above and beyond while keeping our prices affordable. We are committed to serving our clients 24/7 for any HVAC emergencies. Because we are a small business, our overhead is smaller and we can pass our savings to our clients.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising some people may not know is that my husband, Jehu Trumbly, is a third generation HVAC engineer. His grandfather and his father have also been in the industry in multiple different roles as well. Jehu has learned how to fabricate custom ductwork from sheet metal scratch, can calculate heat loads and is constantly continuing his HVAC education.
