Hi Lashanna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story has been a steadily moving ship with levels and many arcs. I am a practitioner in health and wellness. I am also a creator in the performing arts space. I get to use logic and creativity and I love it so much. My tenure in health and wellness spans 15 years and performing arts 25+ years.
The three anchors that have set me where I am today are constant education, faith, and flexibility.
I remain a student, pliable, and prayerful.
These two fields may sound significantly different but there is power in merging them together.
It has been a narrative of personal stories, social awareness and passion that landed me here.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Obstacles will be present. They should be. If the calling is bigger than your capacity to measure it learn to welcome those obstacles. Ouch, right?
Yes, I have been challenged; in my health, my gender, my race, and my tendency to think out of the box.
At the end of the day, I believe these challenges strengthen my tenacity. They continue to fire-proof my purpose.
Because our community cause is Health Equity it can require a lot of resilience and persistence.
