Nadirah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey began 14 years ago as a busy hairstylist, loving my work but feeling pulled toward more freedom and travel. In 2016, I decided to invest in Airbnbs, using my own money to create a new stream of income. The success from that venture opened my eyes to new possibilities and led me to explore business funding, so I wouldn’t have to rely on my own funds.
By 2019, I used funding to start a trucking company and invest in more passive income streams. From there, I knew I wanted to help other entrepreneurs do the same.
Through my company, The SHE.E.O Impact, I’ve helped women business owners secure multiple seven figures in funding while also shifting their mindsets from scarcity to abundance. One client has secured over half a million dollars in funding this year alone. We don’t just help you secure the money; we help you unlock a mindset that takes your business to the next level.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not, but I believe that nothing worth having comes easy. Pivoting into a new space brought many inner challenges that I had to face and work through. Fear can paralyze you but I had to learn how to keep moving forward without fearing the unknown.
I had to overcome the fear of speaking to large audiences and really just putting myself out there. Stepping out of my comfort zone was scary but necessary because I know it’s so many people I’m here to help. Imposter syndrome is also very real but with time and healing I’ve learned how to work through these things. The impact I’m able to make on others’ lives makes the journey incredibly worthwhile.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
One big lesson I’ve learned from the COVID-19 crisis is the importance of having emergency savings, specifically business funding. The pandemic showed how quickly things can change, and having money set aside for unexpected situations can help keep you afloat.
It also taught me the value of passive income—earning money even when you’re not actively working. When everything shut down, those with multiple streams of income, like investments or digital products, were able to stay more secure.
And finally, being flexible and ready to adapt is key. Whether it’s changing up your business plan or finding new ways to reach customers, being able to adjust quickly is crucial for staying successful when things don’t go as planned.
