Today we’d like to introduce you to Rodrigo Araya
Hi rodrigo, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a Chilean immigrant and every time I tell my story, I remember when I was at the airport with 30 dollars, not knowing what was going to happen… My life is a story of sacrifice, dreams, perseverance and constant struggle. When I arrived in the United States, Houston specifically, I immediately felt an inexplicable connection. I was living in a motorhome, without air conditioning and without money and yet, I felt happy. I used all of that as an impulse to fight to get out of that place. My mind worked fast, looking for a way to improve my conditions. After a few weeks, I managed to gather money, after working day and night, and I was able to rent a shop. I was happy, and I immortalized the day in the first photo.
All my life, I have thought that if you do things right, destiny will reward you, sooner or later, that is how every repair I did, I gave my maximum effort, and that is how each time, I began to get new clients who recommended me, at that time my English was bad, but still, my clients preferred me.
After years, I had so many clients and jobs to do, that I could not do it alone, I had to hire workers, to be able to finish the cars, over time, I selected the best, painters, sheet metal workers, body men, managers, assistants, and most importantly, good people. And here I am happy, to achieve what I wanted so much, to have 3 body shops, car sales, car rentals and to be able to help the community with donations with the same money that we generate in our businesses.
EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE, JUST FOCUS AND WORK!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It is a difficult road, the worst thing is not seeing your family because you are working. I remember one time my daughter asked me: Dad, do you plan to work like this all your life? And I answered, no, daughter, this is just part of a process, and that process lasted 2 years, during which I professionalized my companies, with schedules and automation, before I did everything myself. The hardest thing is to get out of your mind that no one can do it better than you. Today I see my team working faster and better than me.

We are a BodyShop, a company that helps the community when they suffer from an aesthetic problem with their car.
