Meet Michelle Cruz of Happy paws

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Cruz

Hi Michelle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I originally wanted to be a school counselor, psychology is a field that I have always been interested in because I love helping people and listening to them, however I came to a conclusion that I can actually do all of that without necessarily having to major in the field. I did graduate with an associates in liberal arts and multidisciplinary studies, after that my plan was to get my bachelors and then my masters in psychology. Once I graduated with my associates I was very proud because I was one of the first in my generation to graduate college, I always felt a part of me wanting something of my own, ive always had a business mind set, I take so much pride in what I do now with happy paws, these fury babies bring me so much joy and motivation to keep pushing and not give up, I’ve always fantasized about having a home where I can have about 3 cats and 3 dogs, now I get to do that and make it a career. Being 28 years old right now looking back I would have never thought I would actually push myself and see where this business goes, I am definitely proud of where I am and hope for this business to expand and get introduced to more happy paws fur babies.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any business, there are ups and downs, but I’ve learned to embrace the challenges because they’ve helped me grow. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to meet amazing clients who make all the hard work feel meaningful. I’m grateful for the trust they placed in me, and it’s a privilege to be part of this journey

As you know, we’re big fans of Happy paws. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
In my business, I offer boarding, pet sitting, dog walking, exercise, and transportation to the vet or daycare when needed. I do all of this for cats too. What makes me different is how comfortable animals feel around me—I’m always genuinely excited to see them. I love showing them care, giving them what they need, and it makes me happy every single day. These pets are like family to me, and I’m so proud of the name I chose for my brand because I really do want every paw to be happy in my care.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is making sure the animals feel safe and loved while they’re with me. I also want my clients to have complete confidence in my care, so they can go to work or enjoy their vacation knowing their pets are in good hands and well looked after.
