Rising Stars: Meet Lacrima Cosnean of The Woodlands

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacrima Cosnean

Hi Lacrima, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My love for design began at a young age. Growing up in Romania and Germany, I was inspired by the stunning architecture around me, which shaped my passion and career path. Coming from an entrepreneurial family with a background in design and construction, I was naturally drawn to this field.

I started my professional journey by working for a firm that flipped homes and built custom homes for clients. This role involved every aspect of the process—buying, renovating, building, and selling—which opened my eyes to the vast potential of real estate. It allowed me to combine my design skills with my passion for helping people create their dream homes.

New construction has since become my specialty. Partnering with my husband, who is an Architectural Designer and builder, I bring a comprehensive understanding of the building process. My early experience overseeing construction sites equipped me to guide clients through each step, ensuring that their new homes are a true reflection of their vision and style.

I’m committed to using my expertise to provide a personalized and seamless experience for my clients, whether they are buying, selling, or building their perfect home. My goal is to help them make informed decisions and achieve their dreams, all while enjoying the process.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been far from a smooth road, and I believe my upbringing has prepared me for the challenges of entrepreneurship. I grew up as an immigrant, moving from Romania to Germany, and later to the USA right after high school. Each move meant learning a new language, adapting to a different culture, and making new friends—skills that are crucial in business.

At 21, when my parents divorced, I found myself navigating college and adulthood alone in a new country. I am incredibly grateful for my boyfriend at the time, who is now my husband, for his unwavering support during those difficult years. I’m also thankful for my mom, who has always been a strong role model for me. Even though it was a tough period, I truly believe that God has a plan for everything.

Being self-employed since 2006, I’ve faced many ups and downs, especially during the economic downturn of 2008-2010. My husband and I, both in the real estate and construction industries, had to constantly adapt, learn new skills, and find ways to keep our business afloat. Adding to the challenge, we were raising three children with very little help. Balancing family and business during those tough years taught us the importance of perseverance and staying true to our commitments—standing by each other through better or worse, for richer or poorer, just as we vowed.

These experiences, though difficult, have made me stronger and more equipped to handle the unpredictable nature of entrepreneurship. I’ve learned that setbacks are just stepping stones to growth, and they have shaped me into the person and professional I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am most proud of building a successful career while staying true to my values of family, community, and giving back. I’ve worked hard to balance my business and family life, and I’m proud to show my children that it’s possible to achieve your goals and be present for your family.

I’m also proud of my role as a coach at my office, where I help newer agents, especially moms, grow their businesses and find the flexibility they need to be there for their families while still making a good income. Seeing others succeed and create a balanced life is incredibly rewarding, and it’s one of the things I cherish most about my career.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Entrepreneurship isn’t easy, and neither is working full-time to support your family. What drives me is making sure I’m passionate about my work. I want to wake up every day excited to go to work, meet amazing people, and learn something new. Being a Realtor has given me all of these opportunities and more. It’s a career that challenges me, fulfills me, and allows me to connect with incredible individuals while making a positive impact in their lives.
