Community Highlights: Meet Kayla Alderson of Keto Goodees

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Alderson

Hi Kayla, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Late 2019, my cousin Kelley and I decided to start a Facebook page and launch keto friendly desserts for sale January 1st 2020.
I myself was on keto at the time and could not find a good keto or “keto friendly” snack that didn’t taste like cardboard and or read the ingredients and realize it is not really “keto friendly”. I really wanted something “sweet”.
So I played around with Almond Flour and came up with some delicious desserts.
We started in Anchorage, Alaska and cliental came very quickly ( “Thank you Jesus” ).

My family and I decided to move for the first time out of Alaska to Texas in 2021.
So I left my customers and my cousin back home to start this new journey and started over with my business here in Katy, Texas.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Coming to Texas and trying the same tactic I did in Alaska ( Facebook ) did not work at all.
I was the new girl in town and everyone knew it.
I had to try something else. I started doing events, shows and even festival’s.
You win some. You lose some.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I specialize in, gluten free, sugar free, low carbohydrate snacks.
I am known for my red velvet cake and salted chocolate chip cookies.
I’m set apart from others because of Jesus.
I am proud of being content with what I have.
Keto Goodees is here for my gluten free, sugar free, low carb and even spectaculars.
I am in it for the long haul.
I want to bring my customers satisfaction and 100% honest ingredients.
I would like to also offer 15% off customer orders reading this article.
We do ship all over Texas at this time.
I am looking into shipping everywhere in the United States in the near future.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see myself having employees and a food truck in 5-10 years.
