Hi Pamela Killian, Rachel Jarrell, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Rachel and I both came from humble beginnings. Growing up, we had loving families, but didn’t have much else. Accordingly, we share a unique bond that surpasses friendship; it’s deeply rooted in similar life experiences. Our childhoods taught us the value of hard work and ignited the desire for more opportunity. Our paths crossed as dedicated nurses at a plastic surgery practice. We spent almost a decade working together, but progressively realized that we needed an environment the better aligned with our vision and values. Thus, The Facial Refinery came to fruition. While its inception was no easy feat, we couldn’t be happier with how far we’ve come and where we’re headed.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Transitioning from our previous roles to starting our own practice came with challenges we couldn’t have anticipated. Initially, the hardest part was making the emotional decision to leave a long-term environment. While it was a valuable experience, we knew it was time to purse an opportunity where we could fully embrace our potential and continue growing. Soon after, the real work began. Rachel and I spent countless sleepless nights working around the clock, piecing together detailed business plans, researching compliance, and navigating the overwhelming complexities of starting from scratch. It was exhausting and time-consuming, as it felt we transitioned from experts in our field to novices in uncharted territory. Nonetheless, every obstacle taught us something invaluable. Through long hours and tough decisions, we gained insights and grew in ways we never expected, strengthening our determination to build something meaningful.
