Hi HAGIT, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey as a photographer began in my hometown of Jerusalem, Israel, where I spent my formative years wandering the ancient streets with a camera in hand. It was during these explorations that my love for photography blossomed, evolving as I sought to capture the beauty and complexity of my surroundings.
Driven by a desire for new experiences, I made the bold decision to leave Israel and embark on an adventure in the United States. Arriving with my camera and dreams, I was eager to discover the vast landscapes and diverse cultures that awaited me.
Today, I own my business, Hagit Bibi Photography, where I work as a natural light photographer specializing in events, families, children, food, and product photography. In the past 4 years, I’ve also had the privilege of serving as a writer and photographer for the Jewish Herald Voice. These days, I’m shooting a bit of everything, from family portraits to product photography, and I love the variety of covering events like wedding, galas, showers, parties, and receptions while writing stories that accompany them.
As a freelancer, I’m most proud of my growth. I’ve worked hard to get to where I am today, and I look forward to what the future holds. My love for Jerusalem remains unwavering, and I continue to draw inspiration from the city’s rich history and vibrant culture in my work.
From the timeless allure of Jerusalem to the dynamic energy of Houston, my journey as a photographer has been remarkable. My passion for capturing the essence of my subjects shines through in every photograph I take, and I hope to inspire and captivate viewers across the globe, inviting them to see the world through my eyes.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting my photography career in my late forties while raising four kids in a new country has been quite challenging. Balancing the demands of family and building a business is no easy feat.
However, I believe that anything is possible when you love what you do. If you are skilled at your craft and possess a unique perspective, you can navigate the struggles and create something beautiful. My passion for photography has been my driving force, helping me to overcome obstacles and find fulfillment in my work.
I could not have done it without my family’s support, especially my husband, Oren, who believes in me every day. He is the wind beneath my wings, encouraging me to chase my dreams and reminding me that I am capable of achieving anything I set my mind to. His unwavering faith in my abilities has been a constant source of strength, helping me navigate the challenges of starting my photography business while raising our children. Together, we create a balance that allows me to pursue my passion, and for that, I am forever grateful.

Whether I’m photographing an individual for a headshot or covering a large-scale event for an organization with over 500 attendees, my goal is to create images that resonate and convey emotion.
What sets me apart is my deep commitment to my clients. Since I don’t have my extended family nearby, I find a sense of belonging and fulfillment by being part of my clients’ celebrations. I take great joy in capturing the beauty of their families and friends, creating lasting memories that reflect their unique stories.
I am most proud of the relationships I build with my clients and the trust they place in me to document their special moments. Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I realized how important it is to stay connected with my clients and celebrate even the small moments in life. Overall, it reminded me why I love photography and the stories I get to capture.
