Exploring Life & Business with Kyle And Marisa Flowers of KTX Fit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle And Marisa Flowers

Hi Kyle and Marisa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We like to say our journey began as children. We have always had a love for fitness even at young ages. I (Marisa here) use to program workouts for myself starting at the age of 7 and was a competitive gymnast growing up. I always enjoyed being a part of a team and feeling like I was doing something that was bigger than myself. I (Kyle here) was always involved in sports and did them competitively. I joined the military and my love for fitness grew from just enjoying the competitive side into a love of having a community to workout with. I (Kyle) took the leap to open my own gym once I got out of the service. A few years later I met Marisa. We got married in 2019 and with our shared passion for fitness and a desire to create a supportive community, we became partners in running the gym. We are proud to have a space where people of all backgrounds can come together, motivate each other, and grow stronger—both physically and mentally.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any entrepreneurial journey, ours has been filled with challenges that tested us and our commitment. One of the biggest obstacles we faced was securing the right location; we searched tirelessly for a space that matched our vision while also being accessible to the community. We landed on this old white building right off the train tracks in Old Katy. It was rough looking at first but it has turned into a place that people call their second home. Our gym was flooded in Harvey back in 2017 and we had to completely start from square one when it came to the aesthetics of the gym. It was actually a blessing in disguise because we got to build the gym back up even better! Additionally, the pandemic also posed significant hurdles, but we were blessed to already have such a strong community. We couldn’t have made it through that without their help! WE LOVE YOU GUYS <3

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At our small gym in Old Katy, TX, we pride ourselves on our vibrant community dedicated to health and fitness. We offer a diverse range of services, including personalized training, functional fitness classes tailored to fit both 30-minute and hour-long schedules, and comprehensive nutritional counseling. What truly sets us apart is our welcoming vibe and the strong sense of community among our members. We are known for our carefully designed programming that delivers real results, and we empower individuals to achieve their fitness goals while building lasting connections along the way.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
We believe in the power of word of mouth. We are confident in our ability in giving members a great experience and that then turns in to them telling their friends and loved ones about us. We believe that real genuine connections are the BEST way to grow a business.
