Hi Lacie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Lacie Lugo, CEO of The Apartments Concierge—your third-party, white-glove leasing service that specializes in conventional leasing and Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher participants through local housing authorities.
My journey in real estate kicked off back in 2007 when I landed a role as an on-site consultant. I quickly worked my way up through various management positions, eventually diving into acquisitions and on-site due diligence. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some powerhouse companies like Greystar, Lennar Multifamily, and Huntington Properties across the Houston, Dallas, and Southeast Florida markets.
Fast forward to 2014, I got my real estate license, and within my first year, I was closing deals in the luxury market like it was second nature! By 2020, I launched my own real estate firm, The Collective Real Estate Group, which thrived in residential and commercial real estate for about three years.
But I wanted to do something with a little more purpose, and that’s how The Apartments Concierge was born! My vision was to help developers and operators skyrocket their occupancy rates in record time. And let me tell you, we hit the ground running! Within two years, the company exploded, and just in the past 10 months, we launched a thriving Section 8 division—a game-changer for our business.
Today, we work with everyone from private landlords to major multifamily developers, helping them fill units with both conventional renters and Section 8 tenants. We’re all about turning up the volume on occupancy while keeping things exciting!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Many struggles have arisen, and there will always be challenges ahead. However, you cannot focus on things that will slow you down. Keep moving forward.

Our mission is to assist properties, owners, and property management firms in quickly filling vacancies, ultimately helping them achieve the best possible net operating income for their assets.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
