Life & Work with Angela Challita of houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Challita

Hi Angela, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I moved to the U.S. from Lebanon three years ago, following my father’s passing. My father and I were incredibly close, and losing him was a turning point in my life. It affected me deeply and took a toll on my mental health. I was in a difficult place, struggling to find direction and healing. Modeling became an unexpected path to rebuilding my confidence and rediscovering my strengths.

I had always been drawn to the camera and started modeling at 17, working with photographers, clothing brands, and salons in Lebanon. My first experience on the runway was actually a trial, but I knew from that moment that I wanted to continue. Being tall and confident in front of the camera came naturally, and the excitement of modeling helped me through my struggles.

After my first show here in the U.S., I met my agent, Ava Mikhael, who believed in me and helped open doors to opportunities I never imagined. I’ve now had the chance to walk in more than 15 fashion shows and collaborate with numerous brands and advertisers. As a curve model, I focus on promoting self-confidence and showing beauty in all body types, which has been deeply empowering for me.

Mental health has always been important to me, and as I’ve grown in this career, I’ve stayed committed to therapy and self-awareness. Staying grounded and taking care of my mental health is key to staying balanced in this industry. Through modeling, I’ve found a way to combine my passion for self-expression and my journey of self-care, allowing me to connect with others who may be on similar paths.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—it’s been filled with challenges that have shaped me in ways I never expected. Moving from Lebanon to the U.S. was not just a change of scenery; it was a complete cultural shock. I left my family, my country, and a huge part of my identity behind. It’s been painful not being able to see them or share life’s everyday moments with them. I had to adapt to a new language, make friends from different backgrounds, and learn a whole new way of life. Every aspect of who I was had to adjust.

Alongside modeling and building a presence as an influencer, I’ve worked in makeup and even accounting to support myself. These roles were different but each brought something unique to my journey, teaching me resilience and versatility. Losing my dad left a gap in my life that also left me with a constant fear—the fear of the unknown, of the future, of what life would look like without him. It’s a feeling that has stuck with me, but it’s also pushed me to keep going.

Like the phoenix, I rise from the ashes. I face the struggles, learn from them, and come out stronger each time, embracing each new beginning.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work has taken me through different fields, each teaching me valuable lessons. From hospitality and marketing to makeup, accounting, and social media, I’ve learned that I can adapt, thrive, and do well in many areas. Currently, I focus on hospitality and social media, where I can connect with people and make an impact.

What sets me apart is my commitment to improvement. I’m always questioning things, looking for solutions, and finding ways to grow. I stay realistic, as I’ve learned that perfectionism can hurt more than help, especially when it comes to mental health. I’m willing to learn anything and everything if it brings me closer to my goals.

One of the things I’m most proud of is my ability to keep moving forward, adapting to different roles and industries. For the future, I’m focused on finding work that brings more freedom and flexibility, allowing me to create a balance that supports both my career and my well-being.

What are your plans for the future?
Looking to the future, I have some exciting plans that really reflect my personal journey. I want to continue growing in hospitality and social media, but I’m also keen to find opportunities that give me more freedom and flexibility in my life.

I dream of developing my own brand or business that resonates with my passion for modeling and influencing. I want to create content that not only showcases fashion but also promotes body positivity and mental health awareness, topics that are very close to my heart. Collaborating with brands that align with these values is something I look forward to, as it would allow me to use my platform to make a meaningful impact.

I also plan to invest in my education, possibly by taking courses in marketing or digital media. I believe that continuous learning is essential, especially in a fast-paced industry like this one.

Most importantly, I’m looking forward to embracing new experiences, traveling, and connecting with people who inspire me. Each step I take is about building a life that truly reflects who I am and what I stand for. It’s all about moving forward and creating a future that feels authentic and fulfilling.
