Hi Christopher, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I first started in my Bestfr college dorm . I was sleeping on his couch . I Was trying to figure out what I was going to do to make money & was praying to god to show some type of sign of what he wants me to do . I remember falling asleep & had A dream of me cutting hair , An something said just start . I remembered I had took my moms trimmers and my dads clippers with me to school . Because i said i was going to start cutting my own hair . An that how I got started cutting .
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not smooth at all . it had a lot of ups an downs . Also buying new clippers and supplies to help make things easier on my self .It was a challenging road for me because i was use to being a athlete. My world revolved around football. So Learning how to cut became a new challenge For me . But I knew I was going to put everything into learning how to be a good barber . An having my friends to help me by letting me cut their helped A lot . their help set the foundation of my barber career to The Heights of what it is now .
As you know, we’re big fans of Smitty Fades . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
First Smitty is family nick name that all the smith men are givin . And if you know any smiths they definitely have been called smitty before . Ik in my family everyone of my uncles and cousins are known as smitty as well . I just was smart enough to make it a business.
Well i specialize in short hair , Color , Designs , an beard shaping . An Hair Line restoration . For Both Men & Women . I love cutting kids the most out of any of my clients .
I feel like what sets me apart my personally , professionalism , Character . I know how to help find peoples look and if a person is describing to me how they envision there hair . I definitely known how to give them there exact idea and put it how their head ,
Im proud of how far my brand has come & how much support i have gotten since the beginning . Im proud of all the investments ive made for the brand to grow as fast as it has gotten .
What i want the readers to about my brand is that your going to get a great Cut , Great Conversation & a Great Experience with my brand . I offer men & women haircuts . Shampoo and conditioner wash . Every cut comes with a hot towel service to relax the client . Ive been doing alot of 1 on 1 clases with upcoming barbers and people that just want to learn how to cut hair . Ive been loving seeing my mentees grow into great barbers . An im coming out with a clothing line . I love fashion so why not have some fun with the brand and expand . Also too i started doing YouTube my First video will be coming out soon . My Channel is Called Smittys World 44 .
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I definitely love the people thats in Houston. Houston is so diverse & rich with alot of cultures. That just makes Houston to perfect for me . And the food is endless i can have seafood , Tacos & fried chicken in the same day . Houston is the place for entrepreneurs
Is alot of motivation out here to definitely step your game up to really make thing happen for yourself and for other people
The least thing i i like about Houston is traffic and pot holes
