Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Perez
Hi Lindsay, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Lindsay, and photography has been my passion since high school. I picked up my first camera as a freshman, and I haven’t put it down since. After I graduated, I kept following this dream, even while preparing to welcome my first baby. I taught myself a lot along the way and took online courses to keep learning. But as my family grew, balancing life as a mom and my love for photography wasn’t always easy.
Through all the ups and downs, my husband was my biggest supporter. He kept pushing me to keep going, even when things felt impossible. I’m so thankful for the amazing clients who stuck with me over the years and helped my business grow.
Now, ten years later, I’ve finally been able to turn my passion into a full-time career. With my four kids becoming more independent, I’ve had more time to focus on learning and expanding my skills. This year has been especially exciting as I stepped into wedding photography, which has quickly become a new favorite.
None of this would have been possible without God, my husband, and my village of family and friends who are always there to help. Thanks to them, I can keep doing what I love—capturing the moments that matter most for my clients.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t always been easy for me in this business. Beyond trying to find the right balance between work and family, I’ve struggled with something many creatives can relate to—”imposter syndrome”. There have been times when I felt like my work wasn’t good enough or that I didn’t belong in an industry so full of talent. It was easy to fall into the trap of comparing myself in an oversaturated market, where it seems like someone is always doing more or doing it better. But I’ve learned to shake those thoughts and focus on staying true to myself and my brand. Even though those feelings of doubt still creep in from time to time, I always come back stronger, using them as fuel to grow and evolve.
As for other challenges, there have been plenty. Building a client base from scratch was a huge hurdle, especially in the early days when I was trying to get my name out there and prove myself. Learning how to market my services in a way that felt authentic but still competitive was also a big learning curve. Pricing was another big struggle—figuring out how to charge what my work is worth while keeping it fair for my clients wasn’t easy, especially when I was just starting and lacked confidence. And of course, despite all of these hurdles, one of the biggest struggles has been holding onto my love for being creative and not letting my business feel like just another job. I truly love what I do, so I make it a priority to carve out time to shoot for fun—just for me—without any added pressure. It’s in those moments of pure creativity that I’m reminded why I started this journey in the first place, and it keeps me inspired to continue growing both as an artist and a business owner.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is spending summer evenings playing outside with my sister, cousins and neighborhood friends. We’d run around barefoot, riding bikes and making up silly games until the sun went down. I remember how free and happy I felt in those moments, not a care in the world except who would win hide-and-seek. Looking back, those simple joys remind me of how important it is to cherish life’s little moments, something I try to capture in my photography today.
