Hi London, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My passion for the beauty industry begin as a senior in high school. This was around the time makeup and skincare tutorials were becoming popular on YouTube. I would sit in my room in front of my vanity mirror for hours following along with YouTube tutorials on how to create different types of makeup looks. I learned how to master my eyebrows and my family members and friends would ask me to do theirs for them. When I started college at Prairie View A&M University, that opened up a whole new world of beauty standards for me and I started to form my personal image. Because I was in college, makeup was still just a hobby for me but I would often be encouraged to start doing makeup on others and actually starting makeup artistry as a business. Fast forward to after graduating college with my bachelor’s degree in health, and it being the peak of COVID, I was still unsure of what I really wanted to do. I decided to follow my heart and passion and go on to esthetician school in 2021. This led me to where I am today as not only a makeup artist, but a licensed Esthetician specializing in makeup and brow artistry, and lash extensions.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has definitely not been so smooth. Plenty of times along the way I’ve found myself discouraged or distracted from my goals and dreams. I got pregnant at 21 years old in the last semester of my college career. The global pandemic was another curveball many of us had to navigate through. At one point I was without and job and only going to my esthetician program while also paying out of pocket for the entire program and taking care of an infant. I felt so alone and lost, but I knew that I was making the right decision by continuing to follow my passion.

I am 4 years into the beauty industry, but have actually doing makeup for about 8 years. I’m all about building genuine relationships with my clients by providing quality work & GOOD VIBES with each and every client. I like to think of myself as a “zen baddie”. I like to look and feel good, and spread peace, positivity and confidence! I’m a wife, a mom, and a business entrepreneur. I’m passionate about connecting with women, and inspiring them to be their best selves by feeling good on the inside and out.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The biggest and most important lesson I think I learned amidst the crisis was to completely put my trust in God. With no one knowing what the next day would bring, while being in my early 20s learning about life, I had to totally depend on and trust God with whatever his plan was. Academically, I was use to making the good grades and knowing all there was to pass.. but for the first time in life it felt like I knew nothing. I had to learn to be okay with that and allow God to take the lead, even if that meant failing at some things.
