Today we’d like to introduce you to Annique Hogan

Hi Annique, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey in property management began in 2008 while I was a student at Sam Houston State University. Like many college students, I was navigating financial challenges, and I discovered that becoming a leasing agent at the student apartment community where I lived could provide free rent, a game changing opportunity for me at the time. Determined to make it happen, I visited the leasing office every day for six months so the management team wouldn’t forget my name. My persistence paid off, and I was offered the role of leasing consultant.

That first position taught me the foundations of customer service, teamwork, and relationship building. Within a year, I was promoted to leasing manager, and I realized that property management was more than a job, it was a career I could truly excel in.

After graduating, I returned to Houston, Texas, where I began working for one of the world’s largest property management companies. I originally intended to pursue a career in teaching, but my love for property management took over. Starting as a leasing professional, I worked my way up to assistant manager and eventually to property manager. Along the way, I was honored with awards such as Leasing Consultant of the Year, Assistant Manager of the Year, and Property Manager of the Year. These achievements reflect the hard work, dedication, and passion I’ve poured into this industry over the years.

As my career evolved, so did my vision. I launched HARP MultiServices, LLC, a Concierge company serving multifamily properties. This venture allows me to blend my extensive industry experience with a passion for enhancing resident experiences and helping property managers achieve their goals. HARP is powered by a team of multifamily and business experts who share my commitment to excellence. The response to this venture has been incredible, and it’s deeply rewarding to contribute to the industry in such a meaningful way.

Beyond my work with HARP, I am a licensed Texas realtor, assisting residents across the Houston in finding their dream homes. My career has been defined by a commitment to personal and professional growth, and I take pride in mentoring others and fostering success in those around me.

At this stage, I’m focused on building a legacy rooted in excellence, authenticity, and impact. The sky is truly the limit, and I’m excited to continue building meaningful connections, growing my business, and achieving new milestones in property management and beyond. My story is one of persistence, passion, and resilience, and I’m grateful for every step of the journey.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Throughout my career, I’ve faced significant obstacles that have shaped my resilience and determination. Early on, I believed that hard work, excellence, and authenticity would naturally lead to growth and success. However, I quickly realized that while those qualities are essential, they are not the only factors that determine career advancement.

One of the most eye-opening challenges was understanding the importance of likability and relationship building in professional environments. Often, decisions about promotions or opportunities aren’t solely based on merit; people tend to support those they know, like, or feel connected to. That was a tough pill to swallow, especially when I put in the effort to consistently deliver exceptional results but didn’t always see immediate recognition.

During those moments, I learned an invaluable lesson, your worth and success are not defined by others. Instead, they are shaped by your personal goals and how you choose to measure progress. I focused on becoming more resilient, embracing challenges as opportunities for growth, and finding purpose in my work beyond external validation.

Additionally, I leaned into building genuine relationships and connecting with people who genuinely wanted to see me succeed. I realized the importance of surrounding myself with allies and mentors who could help me navigate the complexities of my industry. At the same time, I committed to being the kind of mentor and leader who uplifts others, ensuring that I give back and create opportunities for those around me.

These experiences taught me to push through adversity, stay consistent, and remain grounded in my values. I also learned to view setbacks as stepping stones to breakthroughs. As long as I approach my work with intentionality, authenticity, and a willingness to grow, I’ve found that everything ultimately aligns in my favor. Challenges have strengthened my resolve and fueled my drive to continuously strive for excellence.
