Meet Nicole Luca & Laura Oakley of Princesses of The Woodlands

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Luca & Laura Oakley.

Nicole , let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Our story started out with a pair of stay-at home moms who were also next-door neighbors with an idea to bring princess magic to life to children in our community. Children like our daughters who share in our passion for princesses and imagination. We started out offering two princesses and within our first year of business we have blossomed immensely…branching off to over a dozen princesses and now offering superheroes to cater to boys as well. It’s such a rewarding journey.

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting a new business is never a smooth road, however we have been blessed throughout our journey. Our greatest struggle is “letting go” (no pun intended) of control and putting our trust in our performers. With growth and success comes hiring help. We can’t do it all on our own no matter how hard we try. It’s a great problem to have.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Princesses of The Woodlands story. Tell us more about the business.
Princesses of The Woodlands delivers high-quality children’s entertainment. We keep children engaged and entertained while creating magical memories for you and your child. With four children of our own we pride ourselves on being flexible, fun and fabulous to bring children unforgettable experiences. We are known for our interactive storytime shows-they will even engage parents during parties. As mothers ourselves we know how to handle children, you have to know what works and what doesn’t and to be FLEXIBLE. Parents love to work with companies who are adaptable and flexible to their needs.

As a business owner I can honestly say the proudest moments come when you see a child so excited to meet one of our princesses they jump with joy and smile ear to ear. It’s the most precious thing to witness and we are honored to be the ones creating those moments.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
It’s hard to say where we will be in 5 years. We have grown tremendously within one year and we hope that will be a constant trend from year to year. As a perfectionist we take pride in attention to detail. We hope to soon expand to spa parties for children and maybe one day have our own venue.

  • 1 hr with 2 characters $250
  • 30 mins with 2 characters $160
  • 90 mins with 1 character $235
