Exploring Life & Business with Charity Bradshaw of LifeWise Books & Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charity Bradshaw

Hi Charity, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey is deeply rooted in a passion for personal growth and purposeful living. From an early age, my mother, Joan Hunter, recognized the wisdom within me. Inspired by her encouragement, I began sharing my insights through writing. As an author, I focus on empowering others to discover their unique gifts and activate their purpose. I truly believe that everyone carries untapped potential. Having done it myself first, I now challenge people to break free from self-imposed limitations and step into their potential and purpose.

Nearly a decade ago, I began coaching others who wanted to write a book through my renowned twelve-week course, LAUNCH: Author Coaching. This program equips aspiring authors with the tools and strategies they need to bring their book ideas to life. I also run LifeWise Books—a publishing company—where we ensure remarkable messages make their way into the world with excellence.

Outside of work, I live in Texas with my husband, Ted, and our family. Our oldest is a member of the United States Marines and we are very proud of him. Our three daughters are in middle and high school and enjoy finding community in church and sports like basketball, track, soccer and wrestling. Personally, my happy places are the gym and church, but I dream of having a personal chef one day. As business owners and family, we emphasize how giving back plays a huge role in our “why”. Whether it is an orphan, missionary, orphanage, pregnancy center, teen parent support, or other, we know that part of why we work hard is to be able to partner with organizations that have incredible purposes.

My newest book, Learning To Take Care of Me – Discovering Weight Wasn’t All I Needed to Lose, and Health Wasn’t All I Stood to Gain, goes into detail about my health journey and is a huge passion point for me. I enjoy being able to share with and inspire others to reclaim their health and put themselves back on their schedule and priority list. This goes far beyond a mani/pedi and into the mindset it takes to truly care for yourself so you can maximize all you do for others.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing truly valuable comes without a struggle. If it costs us nothing, we won’t appreciate it. Today, my husband and I reflected on my last two decades of being an entrepreneur and all that provided for our family. It allowed me to be flexible as a mom while contributing financially. It allowed me to feel a deep sense of purpose in helping others find their voice and release their messages. It would be ridiculous to say that these immense privileges came easy. Quite the opposite. Often the life of a business owner is bliss mixed with agony. I have to get “hired” every day. My husband, who is a nurse for Houston Methodist, couldn’t understand what this was like for a while. He thought as long as we had money in the bank, I shouldn’t stress. I told him that is not how business ownership works. I compared a slow time in my business to him seeing his work schedule with only one or two days out of six weeks scheduled. That helped him see how it felt during times like post-Covid, recessions, etc. when business was sparce. These times make me appreciate good months, busy years, full emails, and appointments on the calendar. God has definitely set the pace for my business. He knows exactly what we need when we need it, and we trust Him.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We love helping meaningful messages reach the world with excellence. If you have a book idea but don’t know how to write it, or need accountability, how-to, coaching, and camaraderie, you can start with our 12-week course called LAUNCH: Author Coaching. It is offered live, online, three times a year and has helped hundreds of clients get their books written.

If you already have your manuscript written, our team can help you publish it. We offer turnkey service including everything from editing, proofreading, cover design, ebook conversion, interior design, ISBNs, and uploading services. I am most proud of how we are able to treat each client how we ourselves would want to be treated. We are a boutique agency, not some mass production company where people are numbers. We invest time and energy into elevating each project to its highest potential so the author can be proud of their book for years to come.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
It already seems the world is a little disenchanted with AI and how disingenuous it is in literature and beyond. In my humble opinion, the new trend will be “no AI” claims on books so the reader will know it is from true human experience. I also see a continued climb in desire for books with transparency and authenticity. While some may enjoy life with filters, there is a core who is dissatisfied with overly polished, fake, and unrealistic portrayals. When life hits the fan, a resource speaking with grit and guts has the potential to change someone’s life. I always encourage people who have come through hard things to share their story. You never know if it will be the lifeline someone else needed just at the right moment.
