Check Out Amaris Adams’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amaris Adams

Hi Amaris, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The journey of Tru2You Collective started in a moment of deep reflection and uncertainty during the early days of the pandemic. Back in 2020, I launched the platform as a blog to inspire people to stay true to their purpose and calling, even when the world felt like it was unraveling. My first blog post came from a place of raw vulnerability—it was my way of sharing the lessons I was learning about faith, discipline, mental health, and the importance of building character during uncertain times.

The message resonated with so many because it was honest. It spoke to the need to realign our actions with our values, to focus on who we are becoming, and to find purpose even in the most challenging seasons of life. The initial idea was simple: encourage people to use the time to develop themselves and produce the dreams they had been putting on hold.

Over time, Tru2You Collective has evolved from a blog into a brand that equips people to take meaningful action toward their goals, mental health, and purpose. Our planners, Purpose in Motion, are a tangible extension of that mission. They’re designed to help people stay accountable—not just for what they want to achieve but for who they want to become in the process.

What started as my personal response to a life-altering season has grown into a platform that empowers others to navigate their journeys with intentionality. It’s been an incredible transformation, and I’m so grateful to be part of helping others live tru to themselves and their calling.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. After a few months of writing the blog, I felt stagnant and struggled with my own vulnerability and consistency while navigating personal mental health challenges. It was hard to stay motivated and open, especially when I was questioning my own progress and purpose.

Transitioning from a blog to an actual business has also come with its own set of challenges. One of the biggest hurdles has been managing the costs involved in running a business. Manufacturing planners, especially on a local level, can be incredibly expensive, and finding ways to make them more accessible to a larger audience has been a constant focus for me. Balancing my vision with the financial realities of production has been a learning experience, but it’s also driven me to be more creative and resourceful as I figure out how to grow sustainably.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
By day, I’m a multicultural media strategist. In simple terms, I help brands share their stories and gain the visibility they need to connect with diverse audiences. At its core, my work is rooted in public relations (PR), which focuses on managing how information is communicated between a person or organization and the public. Through PR, I help clients secure media coverage, build authentic relationships with their desired audiences, and elevate their presence in spaces that matter most to them.

My role is a blend of strategy, creativity, and empathy. Whether it’s crafting campaigns, planning events, or ensuring clients’ stories are shared authentically, I’m passionate about amplifying voices that might otherwise be overlooked. It’s fulfilling to see the work I do make a tangible impact—whether it’s securing coverage, helping a campaign gain momentum, or simply connecting the dots to bring a creative vision to life.

What sets me apart is my ability to bridge strategy with authenticity. I approach everything I do with intention, ensuring that it not only delivers results but also resonates on a deeper level. This focus on inclusion and creativity guides both my career and my business. Whether I’m scaling my planner brand or managing multicultural marketing campaigns, my dedication to creating impactful, meaningful work is at the core of everything I do.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to keep growing in alignment with my purpose. From reaching more people with my planners to advancing my career and building new relationships, I’m embracing growth while staying rooted in what brings me joy and fulfillment. For me, it’s about creating a life and career that’s intentional, impactful, and deeply connected to what matters most.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t really believe in luck as much as I believe in prayer, alignment, and intention. When we take the time to truly understand why we’re here, envision the best possible path for that purpose, and take even small steps toward it, we begin to see how everything unfolds just as it’s meant to. My brand, Tru2YouCollective, is a testament to staying true to yourself. It started as a blog with no clear direction, and now, with clarity and purpose, I can see the role and vision ahead, all a product of staying aligned with myself.
