Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrislyn Pettus.

Chrislyn Pettus

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The concept for Meaux Juice & Co. emerged in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic during a meaningful conversation in my living room with my mom and cousin. What began as a personal hobby to support my wellness goals while away from campus quickly grew into something much more. My mom had bought a juicer that sat untouched for months, but that pivotal conversation inspired me to finally put it to use.

As I started sharing my juicing journey on Instagram, the response was overwhelming. People were curious about the benefits, recipes, and the juices I was making. The increasing demand sparked the idea for Meaux Juice & Co. The name itself, with its French flair and the symbolic fleur-de-lis, represents ‘More Juice’ and the rich Southern Louisiana cultural heritage passed down to me through many generations.

What began as a simple commitment to my health has evolved into a brand fueled by community interest and a collective passion for healthier living.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a business is never a smooth road; it’s a continuous process of trial and error. You learn as you grow, diving deeper into research to discover what works best for you and your business. Every decision requires careful consideration and a willingness to take risks. The journey has certainly been challenging, particularly when it comes to managing small yet important details to the backend—things like keeping up with inventory, marketing, meeting the demands for juice, and navigating the fluctuating market prices for produce.

Despite these challenges, four years into my juicing business, I’ve been blessed with unwavering support from my family and an amazing community that consistently spreads the word about Meaux Juice & Co. Their encouragement and advocacy have opened doors to new opportunities, and for that, I’m eternally grateful. They are apart of the reason I keep pushing forward.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What makes Meaux Juice & Co. special is the strong foundation it has in the holistic practices passed down through my family. My business is deeply connected to the wisdom of my ancestors, who were all about holistic medicine and farming. Growing up around great-grandparents, great-aunts, uncles, and cousins who lived this way of life, I learned so much that still influences everything I do today.

A lot of my juices are named after these family members and the places we hold dear in St. Martinsville, Louisiana. It’s a personal touch that I love sharing because it creates a meaningful connection to my roots. If you’re curious, you can check out our story and see some of the family photos on my website.

What I’m most proud of is how Meaux Juice & Co. isn’t just about juice—it’s about sharing a piece of my family’s history and the holistic lifestyle that’s been a big part of my life. I hope that comes through in every bottle!

With my background in tech and a degree in Computer Information Science, from the very beginning I’ve taken on the challenge of building my brand from the ground up.

I’ve created my own website, designed my logo, and curated my brand kit and all social media content—by myself.

Though it’s not an easy path, it’s one that I was more than willing to take. I’ve always been a perfectionist, but with this journey it has taught me that growth happens when you embrace the process. Starting is the key, and once you do, you’ll always find your way.

My passion for technology has been with me since childhood—I had my first phone at six and was known for being able to navigate a desktop with ease, which is what drives everything I do.

My love for tech and design runs deep, and through my work—both in my business and the projects I’ve worked on for others—I can express my core identity as a creator.

Overall, Meaux Juice & Co. offers a wide variety of products, all designed to support your health and well-being. Back in 2020, I started with just ten different cold-pressed juices, each with its own unique benefits. Fast forward to 2024, and now we have over thirteen juices, four refreshers, five herbal teas, a respiratory herbal steam, Meaux Aroma Incense, a Meaux Healing blog, and a range of Bayou Juice Bundles that cater to everything from overall wellness to one-to-five day cleanses.

I’m also really passionate about helping my customers find the right solutions for their needs. It’s a team effort, where I’m right there with them, researching and navigating any challenges that come up. When someone says, ‘I don’t know where to start,’ I usually begin by asking about their favorite fruit or if they have a specific goal in mind. Whether it’s something holistic, boosting energy, or detoxing, I’m here to guide them toward what will work best for them.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My best advice for finding a mentor or networking is to put yourself out there—PopUp shops and social media have been game-changers for me. PopUp shops give you the chance to meet people face-to-face, share your story, and make real connections. Social media, on the other hand, lets you reach a wider audience and find like-minded individuals who can support and inspire you.

Remember, you are your best promoter. The more you show up, the more opportunities you’ll create to connect with others. Whether it’s online or in person, be genuine, share your passion, and don’t be afraid to start a conversation. You never know where it might lead!
