Today we’d like to introduce you to Shi’ana Roberts
Hi Shi’Ana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi my name is Shi’Ana (shy-nana) and I am from Alexandria,Louisiana but I currently reside in Houston,Texas. My story is very different from most. I started being into fashion at a very young age. I got so tired of being in the stores with my mom and grandma shopping that I would go hide under the clothing racks. This one specific store by the name of Cato’s they would always have these mini fashion catalog books of their new releases that were in store. So I would grab those to play with and to look into while I was hiding under the racks. Until one day I noticed that some looks would look better rearranged so I started to draw arrows to things that I thought looked better together. So the next time we went to that store I already had a plan on how to navigate my time. I loved their catalogs so much I made my own at home using their looks. From that moment I knew fashion had my heart and the rest is really history. I always dressed fashionably anywhere I went but on Sundays for church I really would go all out. I was always taught when you look good you feel even better. So after I graduated high school I had big plans on attended fashion school and starting my very own brand and I did just that. No matter how long it takes I am determined to be where I want to be. I attended the Art Institute of Houston majoring in fashion design. I currently have my own fashion brand and I have down various shows all over the United States and currently working on doing international shows to market by brand and show others my creativity. Fashion is only the tip of the ice berg with me I have many talents but fashion is my first love and forever love honestly.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has not been smooth at all and there are many struggles. Creating your very own high fashion brand from scratch and actually having consumers take you serious is very hard work. I believe I am built for it I see myself in a different way and I know where my creativity will take my brand. I want others to feel good while wearing my clothing and spark a high level of confidence from within, so until I reach those goals I have tons of work to do. Struggles will come but they will not last forever it is all apart of your story and I want my story to be proof that no matter what happens you tried and you can make it. If I did not believe in myself , have faith or God none of this would even be possible. I have had so many set backs and I am still facing some. The opportunities are coming and are out there never take for granted any small or big event you just never know who knows who. Talk to others some may be facing the same struggles as you. You will be broke trying to build but it is all about who you come in contact with. Networking is so much more meaningful than what most think it helps. You just have to take every opportunity as if this is your big moment. I like to tell myself what if Beyonce may be here I need to show up and show out. You just never know keep pushing forward no matter what happens and know that struggles are apart of the journey so make peace with that and not having it all together.

I am currently a Fashion Designer. My brand name is SHIAN and I specialize in women’s ready to wear gowns and custom clothing. I also specialize in makeup and eyelash extensions. I am most known for my fashion brand. I am most proud of myself for keep learning new things and adding more services to my brand for my clients. I want my brand to be very big and a lifestyle. I know it will take some time but we will get there. The thing that sets me apart from others would be my drive to never stop learning and also not rushing to get to the top. When it is my time to be on top I will but for now I have tons of work to continue to do and I will focus on evolving and elevating.
What matters most to you?
The thing that matters most to me is love and caring for others. Just making people feel good on the inside. I try my best to leave a great impact on anyone I come in contact with. Even if it is just a simple conversation , a hug , a joke , advice or even helping or serving others. You never know what someone is going through in that very moment you meet them. That is why is is always important to be kind to others. Everyone deserves kindness and nice things. I was always taught by my grandparents to treat others how you would want to be treated and that has stuck with me as a core value for my own personal lifestyle and that matters most to me.
