Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Holsomback
Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I went to school at Lamar University on a soccer scholarship and got my bachelors in communications. I worked with cameras with ESPN at the sporting events. So I’ve been around cameras for years but in 2019 I had my son and I wanted a job where I could set my own hours so I didn’t have to take him to daycare. One day I was scrolling through facebook and a photography course popped up. It was a free trial so I signed up, took the class and was hooked. I bought the entire course. Finished it in a month and started by offering free shoots to friends. Eventually I shadowed a wedding photographer in the Houston area and I was hooked! I wanted to do weddings. I had a teammate from college that had been doing wedding photography for a couple years so I asked if I could shadow her and I shadowed for about a year! The rest is history. I started by taking smaller weddings until I slowly started taking bigger weddings. We lived in SETX and eventually moved to Baytown to be closer to Houston because most of my weddings that I was getting hired for were in the Houston area! I have loved every minute of my job.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth? No. lol with kids I don’t think anything is smooth. I will say, I have an incredibly supportive husband who has been there for me every step of the way and made this journey as smooth as possible.
We’ve been impressed with Holsomback Photography, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a photographer that specializes in weddings. I am a one man show here. I talk to clients, handle all the paperwork, I market, I handle social media, I shoot and I edit! What sets me apart is the fact that I do my best to make the process of working with me easy and fun! When working with me 9/10 we will be laughing while making sure we get the absolute best images. I am here to cater to you! I ask my clients what the want and with my expertise, I do everything in my power to make it happen. I am most proud of what I have made my company to be. I prioritize my clients and I never feel like I’m working because I love my job that much!
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I used to be a personal trainer and I love to workout! I am also a book worm. I love to read romantic books, especially the spicy ones. Lol I am also currently in school to be an esthetician so I will have 2 businesses to run!
