Hi Abdul Samad, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hey there! I’m Abdul Samad, the founder of Socializo, a digital marketing agency that’s been making waves in Houston. Let me tell you a bit about my journey.
I was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, where I went to St. Patrick’s High School before getting my Computer Sciences degree from Bahria University. After college, I tried my hand at the civil services exam in Pakistan. I didn’t quite make it, but it was a great learning experience.
My career really took off when I started working in business development for a company that helped authors publish on Amazon. I was pretty good at it, even becoming their top performer. But after a few years, I realized that the 9-to-5 life wasn’t for me. I felt like I had more to offer and wanted to chase bigger dreams.
That’s when I teamed up with my brother, Abdul Jawad, to start Socializo in 2021. He’s a whiz with Meta ads, and I’ve got a knack for sales. We make a great team! We hit the ground running, landing our first client in the very first week.
Things didn’t go smoothly right away, though. I had to take a break and go back to a regular job for a bit. But in May 2024, we relaunched Socializo in Houston, and we haven’t looked back since.
Our main focus is helping startups build their online presence and generating leads for service-based businesses. We’ve even helped some e-commerce businesses grow from scratch to making millions. It’s been an incredible ride!
I’m always learning and growing in this fast-paced digital world. Our production team is based in Pakistan, with my brother handling the ads side of things. This setup helps us deliver great results while keeping costs down for our clients.
Working with businesses in Houston has been amazing, and I’m excited to keep expanding and helping more companies succeed online. There’s always more to learn and new challenges to tackle, but that’s what keeps it exciting!
So that’s my story – from Karachi to Houston, from a 9-to-5 job to running my own agency. It’s been quite a journey, and I’m looking forward to what comes next!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There is nothing smooth in a business. We had to struggle with internet issues in Pakistan until we discovered a good network service provider. Another challenge was setting up payment merchants.
