Today we’d like to introduce you to Ny’elle Blount
Hi Ny’Elle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started at nine9 and barbizon, at a young age I was aspiring to be an actress and a model. I went to countless classes, but once. covid hit I took a break. During September of 2023 I began participating in AliefVotes, growing my presence in the civic community. Late 2023 I made the decision to join A beauty pageant called JR beauty Usa. Months leading up to the pageant I was focused on improving my media presence. By May the pageant had arrived, I managed to get first runner up, but at the time I felt it wasn’t enough. After my first pageant I took a break and focused on my houston career. Attending multiple civic events, Festivals, and photoshoots. In August 2024 I was announced as Miss Inspirational Teen Texas 2025 and with that came my first local TV interview on CW39. After this I completely committed to my dream of becoming a public figure. While also balancing my career I also work at a boba shop. go to school, and still preform my duties at home to assist my mother with her situation.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My path has not been smooth at all. One of the main things I advocate for is mental health, there is a reason to that. Growing up I was diagnosed with anxiety, bulimia, and depression. These brought me to a low point almost taking my own life. At one point I was in texas childrens hooked up to IV’S trying to make sure I was okay. The pain of rejection and feeling like I wasn’t enough overwhelmed me at the time, I eventually overcame it through prayer and I had to hit my lowest to reach my full potential.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I primarily work in civic engagement. I am the Director of Data & Records in AliefVotes, and I have a passion for helping the community. I have attended numerous tree plantings, food drives, and I have even done poll monitoring and voter outreach. I am proud of my first news interview on CW39 centered around my experience and growth from years back. I believe the way I think sets me apart from many people, I have a very philosophical thought process and I tend to process events and situations in a different manner, hence my work with civics.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing Up I was always a creative girl, from making my own fashion, to singing, I have always has the urge to be in the spotlight. Growing up I was a very outgoing girl and my teachers described me as a “drama queen”. When I was young I was very empathetic. Growing up my mother struggled from multiple sclerosis and she was wheelchair bound. I would assist her in her needs and this also helped me develop a sensitivity for disability and to gain understanding. As a child my Dream was to be a famous Actress, although not there yet I am using my dream to fuel my work.
