Meet Keanu Rushh of Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keanu Rushh

Hi Keanu, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am originally from New Orleans, but was half raised in Houston after Hurricane Katrina. I was a hyper kid and I have always been apart of the “Arts” growing up. My mom basically had me as a poster child, I was in movies, plays, commercials, dance teams, hell even a few pageants. My family wasn’t the richest, but my mom was and STILL is a warrior who put my dreams first. She also is the one who got me involved with fashion being that she’s a stylist. I was a musical theater major and eventually fell in love dancing which sparked my passion for being a musician. It was never easy in the beginning, but I wouldn’t change it for anything because it made me the man I am today. Social media has also played a pivotal part in my success. I began influencing in 2016 which led me to professional modeling, exclusive brand deals, and more. I have been able to meet amazing people and experience different walks of life. I always believed in standing out no matter what I do. Always be the one who didn’t follow the norm or wasn’t afraid to step out of the box. I love what I do because overall I am an entertainer. Whether I am making music, acting, dancing, modeling, putting it on or whatever I want to be the BEST. I believe I am the HARDEST rapper in Texas. Especially being apart of the LGBTQ it puts a different target on my head, but I got a crown there for a reason.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some of my biggest struggles was my self confidence. I feel like motivation yourself can be one of the hardest things to do at times especially being an artist. I am always picking apart myself. I am my biggest critic. I think another struggle of mine was balancing my artist lifestyle. When your working in the industry that I am its always pressure to look a certain way, talk a certain way, be this or that, etc. you always have to be on point no matter what. I had to learn how to separate my social media life with my regular because the two can coincide at times.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am mostly known for being an influencer, and artist. I have had multiple brands deals over the years, gotten to walk in fashion shows, and perform at some of the most amazing shows. I also became popular on the Tiktok app which I also use to increase my music streams. My music right now is probably my biggest success that I am proud of. Creating an entire body of work and being able to share that with people who genuinely believe in you is all I could ever ask for. I think the biggest thing that sets me apart from others is my charisma. My mind is so vast, I am constantly looking to create. I am not afraid of criticism, or being told no. That type of stuff sparks a fire under me

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
BE YOURSELF.
BE YOURSELF.
BE YOURSELF.
I said it three times because that’s how crucial it is nowadays. Everyone wants to wear a mask literally. I think some of the most successful artist over the years maintained that because they stayed true to them. Not hiding who I am is what got me where I am, not being afraid to take risk. If I could give anyone a tiny piece of advice it would be to remain true to them. Not following the norms and creating my own lane has worked for me
