Hi Viridiana , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hello, my name is Viridiana and I started in the world of photography in 2021. As just a hobby, as time went by, I grew to love photography more and began to educate myself by taking some basic courses. I was always that girl who as a teenager carried my small digital camera everywhere to capture moments with friends. As the months went by, I began to offer my services for a small cost, my first sessions were $ 50, I still remember it! As I began to immerse myself in this beautiful world, I wanted to learn more and more, so I took some more advanced courses to learn new lighting techniques, and become a specialized photographer in maternity and birthday sessions. It’s been 4 years and now I can say that what one day started just as a hobby has now become my full-time job, which I do with a lot of love and dedication, always trying to learn new things to always offer my clients a better service. I will always be grateful to my clients who give me the opportunity to grow and support my small business.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has not been easy at all. People think that taking a photo is just pressing a button, when in reality it is more than that, it takes some time to learn. Sometimes there can also be other factors that make it difficult. In my case, I am a mother of two little girls, one 2 years old and the other 8, which means I always have to divide my time between being a housewife and a working woman. But I have the support of my family, without whom I would never have achieved it. I will always be grateful to my parents, husband, sisters and brother) and my aunt who is like a second mother to me!.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a photographer specialized in maternity and birthday sessions! What makes me different from others? Well, I think that all photographers are unique, each one of us tries to have our own style, but without a doubt one of the things that sets me apart from others is that I always give my best, it doesn’t matter that I don’t know my clients, I always try to make them feel as comfortable as possible. Many of my maternity packages include the huge gowns and that is something that many clients look for so I always try to bring them nice dresses for their sessions! Something that I am proud of today is what I have achieved in learning but above all the responsible, hard-working woman that I am.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Of course, I think we all learned something, and that was to value the moments we shared with our families. I think Covid-19 also taught us that in the blink of an eye our lives can change completely.
