Today we’d like to introduce you to Geraldine Morgan.
Geraldine, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started in Graphic Arts in 1985 before the computer era, I attended Central Texas College and went to work at Met Printing soon after as a bindery supervisor. I soon realized I wanted more, so I went back to college in 1991 and studied to become a Computer Information Center Specialist, finished that in 1993, from there I became the General Manager at Image Copies, a copy and photo development company. I, later turned it into a printing shop for the owner. In 1999, I was recruited to become the Production Manager of a large commercial printing company called, Texas Printing and ran that for few years. But, I love the smaller shops, so I went to work for Metro Printing as the Graphic Designer/Pre-press Technician for several years. I have been in this industry for over 32 years and have held jobs in many capacities, I always free-lanced my skills to other printing companies who couldn’t afford an in-house designer. I was also a night club owner for 14 years and when things didn’t work out, I went back to what I know for sure… graphic design and printing.
In 2015, my wife Barbara and I decided it was time for us to open our own shop after I had a stroke working for someone else. Running another person’s business and taking on their stress was not the way I wanted to live. So, God blessed me with the strength and knowledge to take a chance on myself. We opened in Stafford, Texas and we have been blessed ever since. It’s a lot of work and sometimes we work 12 to 14 hours a day to make sure our clients are taken cared of. I love what I do!!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has been good to us, of course, there were times when work became slow but by the grace of God, we persevered. When you work for yourself, you have so many hats to wear. So, allocating time for each title is the challenging part. There is bookkeeping, designing, customer service and ordering supplies, it does get hectic. But, I wouldn’t trade it for nothing in the world.

My wife is my right hand, none of this would be possible without Barbara Short-Morgan. She recently was in a wheel chair and had to have two hip replacements within a span of six months. Even in her wheel chair and a walker, she came to work and never complained. She believed in me when I din’t believe in myself. The days when I don’t want to go in the office, she says ‘stay home’, she got it. She takes care of our home and our business without any complaint. We’ve been together for over 15 years and we are getting better together with time.
