Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Romero.
Hi Andrea, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My passion for woodworking started back in 2017 when I was asked to come join my father in laws business as a painter and stainer. I worked my way up through the ranks. Learning how to sand, paint, stain, even build. Then I moved my way up into the office where I took orders and worked closely with our customers. My father in law closed his shop after a couple of years. I still had a passion for carpentry. I took the leap with my ex husband and started a carpentry business of our own. That wasn’t enough for me. I wanted something more. Something soley my own. So I started Rock N Scroll Co. My own Slice of the woodworking industry all my own. Where I make unique and one of a kind wooden signs. It’s been my love and passion since starting it back in 2021. I’ve been running both businesses full time. I absolutely love everything about being an entrepreneur.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh man where do I even start. Being a full time double small business owner along with being a full time mom has had its many challenges. From finding time to balance it all to trying to keep a healthy marriage. Keeping myself focused, accountable, and on task was probably the one thing I struggled with the most. It’s definitely something you learn as you grow. With 8 years of entrepreneurship under my belt I can say that you truly do learn something new everyday. You’re constantly growing.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I create custom handmade wooden 3D Signs for my customers. I’m best known in my woodworking community for my kindness and positivity! I’m most proud of all the growth if experienced opening this business on my own. What sets me apart from others is my commitment to perfection when it comes to my projects.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Swaggie Script an awesome mural Business in Houston. They have had my back and helped push me forward while I was going through my divorce. If it wasn’t for them I don’t think I would have been strong enough to keep pushing and keep following my dreams.
My wonderful partner Riley Lee Wedgeworth has done nothing but cheer me on and support me. He hasn’t let me lose hope or my creative spark.
So Tex Carpentry For being my stepping stone into entrepreneurship. If I wouldn’t have started that company first I would not have been able to start Rock N Scroll Co.
