Today we’d like to introduce you to Venera Carelas
Hi Venera, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
CarelasV was born in 2018 simply out of loving documenting our life in the mountains of California at the time. That quickly turned into portrait photography because I also had a deep passion for creativity and needed to create. But deeper than that I’ve loved nostalgic and emotive photography my whole life and the idea of documenting people’s lives became my biggest creative outlet and passion.
Currently I am based out of The Woodlands, but very excited to branch out too.
With my whole heart and soul, I believe a picture is worth a thousand words- and I strive for my images to tell your story.
My story is; We moved from overseas when I was 7, then I grew up- married my husband and we traveled a bit for his job- and along the way I’ve collected thousands of photographs and memories- but sometimes the memories fade and all we have left are pictures. I believe everyone should have at least one set of professional photographs to cherish forever. The idea is, grab your loved one(s), dress up and just BE in front of my camera. “No matter if your 14 or 90, you’ll never be this young again”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Depends how you look at things. My photography journey has not been linear but its been pretty cool not gonna lie. Struggles are challenges to overcome so every time I’ve figured something out I’ve come out so much wiser so I’m always grateful for whatever crosses my path. Everything is figureoutable. I actually love information so I can be able to help someone else who’s stuck. The more I learn, the better.

Recently I had a photoshoot where a client chose to wear something more dramatically expressive than something she’d usually wear. Her husband asked her why she chose that particular outfit, and her response was “I don’t know but she makes everything look like a story”
That was the best compliment in all my years because that’s all I want.
What sets me apart? I probably wont edit out your hair flying across your face because that would indicate that its windy and windy is romantic. and hair flying is romantic.
This is probably my specialty- just to capture everything. The essence of you.
