Today we’d like to introduce you to Jimson Stlouis
Hi Jimson, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story all started in US Virgin Islands which is a small beautiful island in the Caribbeans. I was born in Miami Florida and moved to the US Virgin Islands at 3 years old. My whole family are from the beautiful islands called Haiti and end up moving to US Virgin Islands where I was raised and where I call Home. I have three older sisters with 1 nephew and 2 nieces.
My journey started off on a soccer field at the age of 3 years old. All I wanted to do was play the beautiful game called soccer. My dream as a kid was to represent the Us Virgin Island National Team and become a professional soccer player to make my family proud and help everyone in my family achieve their goals and dreams. As a kid that’s a big dream but in my head it was my passion. I continued to train and play the game, got my first ever national team call up at the age of 14 to represent the US Virgin Islands U15 National Team. Having the honor to represent a country at the age 14 and achieving one of my goals was just amazing and joyful. And that was just the start for me. I went on representing the U17, U20, U23, and now today I represent The Men’s National Team.
I moved to the USA when I was 16 years old away from my parents to continue my education and soccer career at southeastern community college in West Burlington Iowa. I was leaving my family to go into a new journey without them and on my own. Honestly was scary but exciting. It was scary because I was going into a new world new city new environment that I know nothing about and was scared whether I made the right choice but I was excited because I felt closer to my goals.
My first year of college was honestly exciting and was a very open minded opportunity for me. My soccer team at southeastern community college was very diverse. We had kids from all around the world and made me understand different cultures, different ideas, and different views points. I spent two amazing years in a small community but in that community I learned that soccer is not the only option for me in this world, in that soccer community I had I met great people that I can call friends and brothers today.
I continued my journey by transferring to Dalton State College in Georgia. In this environment well let’s say the soccer team that I was apart of was probably the most open minded experienced I’ve been in. The culture, the players, everyone in that room were soccer players and coaches but what was most important for everyone was that we were a family. And that experience made feel more open in trying other things and not being afraid in expressing myself because everyone in that room was supportive.
And the end of my journey Coastal Carolina University. This was my last dance. With a soccer college team and with my education. And honestly after graduating on December 15 2024 I don’t regret any path or decisions I’ve made in myself.
My story is not simple. My story started as a young kid who wanted to become a professional soccer player who is still on that journey up to this day. But with going through college and being with people around the world it should me that there was more than becoming a professional soccer player. It should me I had more passion and purpose in this world. And my purpose was to create something, to spread positivity, to spread love, to try make people feel royalty. Which is why I came up with CrownX. I started this clothing brand because I wanted to create something that was unique to people. Something that you want to represent that shows it on the shirt with feeling confident and royal like you are on top of the world.
With closing my story I want to give a message to all athletes around the world. You always have another purpose, do not be afraid of doing something else that you enjoy doing. Use that passion you have in the sport you play and use it to make you feel happy and great. Whether that could be painting, start a clothing brand, singing, creating content or etc. Just don’t be afraid.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This road was very bumpy. Bumpy because I had felt I had one purpose which was to become a professional soccer player. I was so scared of doing other things that made me happy because I was scared what others would think if I didn’t make it pro.
