Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruby Robles
Hi Ruby, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey into entrepreneurship as a makeup artist, digital media creator, and psychology enthusiast has been a full circle experience of how my curiosity turned into my career. Inspired by the beauty industry and cultural trends of 2016, I began sharing my makeup looks online, which quickly led to local requests for my services.
Recognizing an opportunity, I launched a Facebook business page and promoted myself through Craigslist and local Facebook groups, using grassroots marketing to grow my clientele. What started as a way to support myself through college became a deeper fascination with social media and mass communication.
This blend of artistry, digital strategy, and psychological insight has shaped my unique path in the industry, allowing me to connect with others in a philosophical and creative way.
I don’t just sell makeup looks—I sell a feeling, an experience, and a story. My approach is rooted in authenticity, allowing my audience to connect with me beyond just the surface. By owning my journey, both the highs and the lows, I create a space where people feel seen, understood, and inspired.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. It took me a long time to just release resistance and ride my own wave. Some of my struggles along the way have been dealing with my own mental health while simultaneously learning about psychology itself. It’s been an intense experience—like unraveling the layers of my own mind while studying the mind as a whole. That kind of introspection can feel like falling down a rabbit hole, but it’s also given me a deeper understanding of myself and the overall human experience.
I’ve come to see my rough patches as cycles of inner deaths and rebirths—times when I need to step back, self-reflect, and reinvent myself. Those phases have always been necessary for my growth, helping me refine my vision and come back even stronger. I’ve learned to give myself grace through these moments, knowing they’re just part of the process of discovering where I truly want to navigate next as an artist.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Above all, I’m an artist, and that’s what I’m most proud of—being able to express that in so many different ways. Beauty is my main medium, but at my core, I’m a storyteller. My online presence isn’t just about showcasing makeup; it’s about sharing glimpses of my life, my thoughts, and my creative process in a way that feels real and immersive.
What makes my brand unique is that it’s alive—it’s my real life, unfolding in real time. I share the glamorous and raw sides of myself online. As I go through my reality I share what’s on my mind and even if things about me get exposed online, I don’t distance myself from them—I integrate them into my storytelling. I weave them into the narrative of my journey, making them part of my brand in a way that’s honest and engaging. My audience isn’t just watching a polished version of me from the outside; they’re growing with me. They’re part of the experience. They’re interactive, asking questions and speculating on what’s next as my story unfolds.
That’s what I love about creating in the digital space—it’s not just static content, it’s a dynamic experience. It’s not just about showing up perfectly, but about showing up fully. And that’s what keeps it exciting—not just for me, but for everyone who’s part of this journey with me. I feel free to show up as my authentic self and open the door for others to connect with me authentically, too.
What’s next?
I’m excited to continue growing my clientele and improving my makeup artistry. Beauty has always been my number one guilty pleasure, and I don’t see that ever changing. The way we perceive, create, and respond to beauty is an endless study, and even after almost a decade in the game, I still feel like I’m just scratching the surface. It’s a lifelong obsession, and I’m excited to keep evolving with it.
Additionally, I definitely see myself diving deeper into both the psychology and digital media realms. I’d love to help out more businesses with their social media presence. Social media content creation and management was something I truly enjoyed learning about in college.
Recently, I explored the field of education and unexpectedly fell in love with teaching, so I plan on leaning into that space too—by offering makeup classes and creating “infotainment” content about psychology.
I’ve always been drawn to the power of journalism, influence, and mass connection, and I look forward to building a public platform where I can use my voice to make an impact. Whether it’s by helping others with their mental health, teaching digital media strategies and business marketing, or guiding artists in refining their craft, I want to create a space where knowledge, creativity, and empowerment come together.
