Today we’d like to introduce you to Verenise Valdespino
Hi Verenise, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always loved art and crafting. I even remember asking my dad to buy me those monthly art kits when I was in Highschool. It was like taking art classes outside of school even though I was already taking an art class. As I got older and started working, I was able to purchase my first new Jeep. If you don’t know, owning a Jeep is being part of a community and my community is what helped me get to where I’m at now. I often shared some off-road and relatable designs to my off-road community and they loved it! I would go viral plenty of times and grew a following of over 80,000 from all of my pages. People will constantly ask “Do you have an Etsy Shop?” or “Can I have this made as a decal or shirt?”. I have purchased from Etsy before. In fact, Etsy is where I purchased my very first decal for my Jeep. I never imagined myself selling on Etsy. I was seriously terrified on starting a “business”. I had to learn how to do everything by myself. It was a challenge, but I did it. I opened my first Etsy Store in 2020 called 4x4dventures. I did it for two years and it was very successful. It inspired me to open a new Etsy Store specifically for Spooky Lovers like myself and that’s how My Spooky Little Heart was created in 2022. It’s been three hardworking years! I couldn’t have done it without my Off-road community, the spooky community and especially without my Family. My family has seriously helped me with everything really. Between helping me make the decals, packaging and dropping off orders to the post office. I’m very proud of everything I’ve accomplished with their help. It’s not easy running a business at times, but every feedback I get on a daily basis from my amazing customers is worth it. I’m feeling very positive. MSLH is growing and I’m manifesting a great year. I have a lot of wonderful new things coming this year. I hope that everyone continues to love what I offer.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been easy. I did struggle at first on getting orders or getting “seen” on Social Media. I am a firm believer that if you want to succeed, you have to work hard and keep pushing everyday and become better than you were yesterday.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create my designs on my iPad using Procreate. I specialize in creating spooky cute designs that I then use to create apparel, car decals, cups and so much more. I am known for my car decals, which is how I started in the small business world. One thing I’m proud of is my car decal designs. They are not the decals I’ve grew up seeing and that’s what sets me apart from others. My car decals are spooky and cute and I LOVE THAT.
