Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylia Capri .
Hi Kaylia , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I woke up every day in paradise, literally. The Bahamas is a beautiful country filled with culture warm weather and friendly people. It’s so rare to make it off that small island. Most don’t awaken from the island mentality. Time passes and you discover it’s even harder carrying that cultural torch when you wide awake. Nonetheless, I have big dreams. Ones I was not imagining, I felt it.
My skills were vast in aspects that are more appreciated now as opposed to then. From a young age, I exuded great social skills, A tendency of getting into trouble (the fun kind) and unintentionally creating positive social environments. I’ve never been a down person, despite my harsh childhood. What motivates me is continuing to be positive since that’s harder than just giving up. Which lead me to the Beauty of playing sports! (Literally, like all of them 🤣)
Fast forward to now. I am amongst the top professional wrestlers in the business today. Everyone wants a chance to get “unda dis Capri ☀️”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have faced the feelings of having to stop something I’ve worked my whole life towards (track). Realizing that path had branched off. Also getting used to being denied, and finding comfort in “no means next” My release from WWE was a huge factor in my journey
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Professional Sports Entertainer/Retired Track athlete/Creative/Influencer/anything I put my mind to. Known for always going viral for my wicked waistline dancing, or maybe my hair transformation TikTok’s. People also know me from being a brand ambassador (I’ve aided in helping to grow the audiences/sales for numerous businesses big and small). Also, the fact that I ran track became all American and help to put my HBCU on the radar of potential future students athletes. Not to mention the attention I receive for my body structure, as people see my hard work physically.
I’m most proud of the fact that I’m a representative for my entire country. They all know me, all support me. My first event in The Bahamas was Baha Bash where we had so many people show up, we started having to turn people away. The venue was over capacity. By then I was referred too as the “Hogan of The Bahamas”. It was a turn out that ACW (all Caribbean Wrestling) hasn’t seen in the US.
So what sets me apart is that I went from being a small fish in a small canal. To growing legs, getting myself to one of the greatest nations in the world and stamping my name in your history books as well as my country’s. I’m proof that it is possible to begin, stop, redo, and start all over again, keeping that feeling of achieving success as motivation to becoming your best self. That’s what makes me Kaylia Capri ☀️
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
It’s so much more, I’d love to speak about it. Since the stories are outlandish and absolutely something you have to hear with your own ears.
