Conversations with Fontonette Smith

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Fontonette Smith again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Fontonette, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
I’m Fontonette Smith, the creative force behind The Lady Eye-Services, where I help entrepreneurs and businesses build strong, professional brand identities. My journey started with a passion for design, organization, and business strategy, and over time, I’ve turned that passion into a service-driven brand that makes starting and growing a business more accessible.

At The Lady Eye-Services, I offer a range of services, from logo and website design to business setup essentials like professional email creation, business credit profiling, and document solutions. What sets me apart is my commitment to providing affordable, strategic, and visually compelling solutions that help businesses establish credibility and scale effectively.

I’ve worked with new and established business owners, helping them navigate the complexities of branding and operations with clarity and confidence. My approach is hands-on and tailored—whether it’s designing templates that simplify workflows, crafting presentations that tell compelling stories, or ensuring businesses have the right foundation to succeed.

This journey has been about more than just business for me—it’s about empowering entrepreneurs to bring their visions to life without breaking the bank. My goal is to create resources, tools, and designs that make business ownership smoother and more impactful.

Let’s build something great together!

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
I love this question because my journey has been anything but static—it’s constantly evolving, filled with wins, challenges, and new directions I never expected.

Since launching The Lady Eye-Services, I’ve refined my approach to branding, business setup, and digital solutions for entrepreneurs. What started as offering basic services like logo and website design has now expanded into a full-fledged business solutions hub—helping new and growing businesses with branding, professional setup, and business credit profiling. I’ve also introduced document solutions, which includes everything from resumes and presentations to proposals and business plans.

One of the biggest wins lately has been the shift toward digital products. I’ve been working on design templates, checklists, and business planning tools that will allow more entrepreneurs to access professional-grade resources without the custom pricing. The idea of scaling my expertise through downloadable assets is something I’m really excited about—it’s a way to serve more people efficiently while still maintaining quality.

I’ve also taken on a more strategic role in business credit education, making it easier for entrepreneurs to understand how to build their financial foundation. I’m still navigating this space, but I see a huge opportunity to empower business owners beyond just branding—I want them to be financially prepared for growth.

Another fun development is my involvement in pop-up experiences through Woman’s Glam & Co. This project allows me to create immersive brand showcases, helping businesses connect with their communities in a tangible, memorable way. It’s been a fun challenge learning how to blend brand strategy with in-person experiences, but I love seeing how it brings brands to life.

On the flip side, time management has been a real test. With so many moving pieces—client work, digital product development, and new ventures—it’s easy to get overwhelmed. I’ve had to restructure my workflow, delegate where possible, and set better boundaries with my time. Learning how to balance client work with building my own brand has been a lesson in discipline and patience.

Another challenge has been pricing. I believe in affordable, accessible services, but I’ve realized that undervaluing my work isn’t sustainable. Finding that balance—where clients feel they’re getting a great deal while ensuring my work is fairly compensated—has been a journey in itself.

What’s Next?

Looking ahead, I’m focused on:
• Finalizing my digital products and launching them under The Lady Eye-Services
• Strengthening my business credit services and possibly formalizing an educational offering
• Growing Woman’s Glam & Co. into a premier experience-driven creative agency
• Continuing to refine my brand identity services to help more women-owned businesses establish a strong foundation

Every step has been a mix of creativity, strategy, and trial-and-error, but that’s what makes it exciting. I’m constantly evolving, learning from my experiences, and finding new ways to help others succeed in their business journeys.

Thanks for being part of the ride—I’m excited for what’s next!

When you look back on your life, what are three things you expect to be proud of?
Helping entrepreneurs, especially women, build their businesses and take ownership of their financial independence is something I hold close to my heart. Whether it’s through The Lady Eye-Services, my work in business credit education, or working as part owner of my creative agency, Woman’s Glam & Co., I want to look back and know that I made a real difference in people’s lives. Seeing someone launch their dream business with confidence because of the resources or guidance I provided—that’s the kind of legacy I want to leave.

Family is everything to me. I want to be proud of how I’ve created stability, opportunities, and experiences for my loved ones. Whether it’s making sure my son has the best foundation for his future or ensuring that my family enjoys a healthy, fulfilling life, these are the things that matter most. Financial success is great, but time, freedom, and meaningful moments with the people I love will be my biggest achievements.

I’ve faced challenges, made pivots, and taken risks, but through it all, I’ve remained committed to my vision. I want to be proud of how I kept going, adapted, and continued to grow—both personally and professionally. From building businesses to embracing a healthier, more intentional lifestyle, I want to know that I never settled, never stopped learning, and always strived to be better.

At the end of the day, success isn’t just about what I’ve built—it’s about who I’ve helped, the love I’ve shared, and the growth I’ve embraced along the way.
