Today we’d like to introduce you to Larry Bell
Larry, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started rapping at a young age around 10 years old or so really learning how to write and put poems together which turned into rap lyrics later on. My father is a DJ so the music world was very heavy in the household, My older brothers use to freestyle rap, so I asked them how to make a rap and they coached me through the process. My mother loved to sing, and get me and my brothers to perform at house parties so music was embedded in my D.N.A as I got older I learned more and more with investing in music equipment. Coming up with music groups writing lyrics, recording out of the outside hot water heater storage room. I put together speakers and a CD and tape player and had a microphone connected to it. I use to drive my neighborhood crazy with the music and traffic, as I learn more and more I started getting order with the traffic recording with Cool edit Pro 2.0 at the time. After trail and error i came up with highway Music Records was the 1st label I started and as me and my brother Kang David kept going on this music journey we ended up with 223 Muzik Tribe under Zaytown Global which is Zaytoven and Digital Dope which is Zaytoven Manager. I moved from Lake Charles, Louisiana to spring tx I end up doing one of my old songs produced by Harvey Luv (The Come Down King) and it featured Ronnie Spencer(S.U.C/Wreckshop Records) called So I grind and we shot the video and put it on YouTube under Gt digital platform that’s ran by gold toes/Empire Records, also have a interview on boss talk 101 a podcast out of Dallas Texas after that I just kept dropping music singles, EP and mixtapes. We got features from Lil Keke the Don of S.U.C, Lil Cali and many more artists. From spring tx I moved to Greens point area then ended up on the southwest side of Houston on Westhemier still rapping and doing shows from Texas to new Orleans and dropping projects as consistent as possible.Being on the southwest side of town I’ve ran across artist like Lil O, Sauce Walka, Slim Thug, K-Rino Murder 1 SPC real cool vibe on this side of town I go by the rap name Mocash, I rap and produce my own tracks along with other producers, we make up half of 223 Muzik Tribe. You can look us up on 60+ platforms Worldwide. We have multiple artist T-Smuv, Flip Da Ghost, T-Black we are a family oriented label/Management and a force to be reckon with in this music industry.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Everything we do in life, sometimes it comes with a unknown price. Which means everybody want to be this and that and do this and that. But don’t know how hard it is to make those goals happen. I’ve been with and been without I’ve lost a lot of friends in the process, my mother passed away, my uncle, my grandfather, aunties, cousin and close homeboys. It’s been days I wanted to just give up, but My faith in the most high kept something deep down inside just kept playing a tune and just kept me going for the people thats not here anymore. I had to think about it, would they want me to come this far and just stop? No, So my motto is Grind Hard & Shine Bright everyday & THE TRIBE IS HERE 🏕️👑 AND WE NOT STOPPING. 🙏🏾
