Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather VonBerg.
Hi Heather, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’d say my story began in 2012 when I started working with an organization called Revelation Wellness. I became a certified fitness instructor and a part of the core team which gave me the opportunity to teach and train new instructors and travel to Arizona multiple times a year to lead at the retreats.
For the last 13+ years I’ve been involved in ministry in local churches, non-profits as well as receiving certifications as a life coach and spiritual director, and a licensed massage therapist.
I’ve recently written a wellness guide called stayevrgrn, which gives tools and strategies for mind, body, and spirit wellbeing.
My passion is to help people live in alignment with their original design and to avoid burnout as they pursue their purpose.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Just like anything worth pursuing, this journey has been filled with ups and downs. Pursuing purpose is no small thing. I’ve learned a lot about myself and how to navigate hard conversations while building teams. I’ve also found heartache comes as seasons change. But through it all, God has given me a standard to keep; remaining steadfast, seeing trials as opportunities for growth and realignment.
Any work comes with challenges, but I think that leaders in churches and ministries especially are faced with the challenge of burnout, as they often find it hard to establish boundaries or take time to themselves. I want to see that change. So I’ve often found myself getting the opportunity to practice what I preach.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
For over a decade I have been blessed to teach, train and mentor people in some form or fashion. Whether it was training ministry leaders, working with youth, doing missions work or pouring into my kids and grandkids, I’m a teacher and student at heart. I love to learn and grow, hence why I keep finding new certifications and opportunities to gain new skills.
For the last few years I’ve worked as a massage therapist and immersed myself into learning more about the nervous system, while learning hands on how hard it is for people to connect mind, body, and spirit. I recently stepped back from massage therapy to dedicate my time to helping others on a larger scale.
Currently I work along side my husband and an amazing team of leaders in ministry at our local church. I’m also in the early stages of planning the very first stayevrgrn wellness retreat based off of my guide. A dream come true!!
I’m also creating content on social media as a creative outlet to share value and help others find healing and courage to pursue their purpose without burnout.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is learning and sharing with others. Especially if it involves mindset, wellness, personal development, or our spiritual life. I also really enjoy outdoors activities like exploring forests with my husband or family, especially playing with my grandbabies.
I love to travel and experience things that challenge me. I’ve been all over America, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Mexico and Africa and still I feel there is so much more to see! I’m also an enneagram 7 🥳
