Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Carroll.
Amber, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Amid the challenges of the COVID 19 pandemic, I sought a therapeutic outlet to cope with my battle with mental health. After experimenting with different hobbies, I discovered candle making. What started as a simple DIY project quickly turned into a passion.Despite a less-than-perfect first batch, I continued to craft candles with personal stories and meaningful connection. This is the foundation for what has become a luxury brand in the candle market.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When I first began making candles, they were not very fragrant. In fact, they smelled like air. At first, I was discouraged, but I kept at it and continued to educate myself on what makes a great candle. I also had an issue where I had to change the name of my business. This too was a little discouraging, but I continued to believe in my products and trust the process and today. I am proud to say that we have been in business for 4 years.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create clean, non toxic candles, wax melts, diffusers and linen and room sprays. I’m most proud of the fact that Crafted by Carroll began as the result of needing an outlet and blossomed into a business that not only provides quality products, but promotes hope and healing through scents, the stories behind them as well as the charities we support. What distinguishes Crafted by Carroll from other brands is the deep emotional connection embedded in each product. My early scents were inspired by my journey through depression and anxiety specifically to evoke feelings of comfort, healing and nostalgia.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
My favorite books are , The Tony Evans Study Bible, Candle Making Business 2021, and also Fervent by Priscilla Shirer.
