Meet Hope Tyler of Katy , TX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hope Tyler.

Hope, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I completed Hollywood beauty Institute in 2018. I started cutting hair in Orlando which is where I gained a lot of my skills. Now I’m cutting hair in Houston, Texas, where I am furthering my skills with a new group of people in a different state. How I got where I am today is I was dedicated, I worked hard, and I did not let me be hearing impaired stop me from achieving my goals.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road for me was not easy. I had to finish barbering school. I was the only deaf person in my class I graduated with my license and was able to complete the course. Now I am doing what I love cutting hair with the public inside a salon

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What sets me apart from others is the fact that I am hearing impaired and I’m working in a world where everyone is hearing. I find it easy to communicate with my customers on the type of haircuts they want, and I specialize in fades and close cuts with beards.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I like Houston Texas because it’s big city Orlando Florida is good city too
