Daily Inspiration: Meet De’Tron Callaway

Today we’d like to introduce you to De’Tron Callaway.

Hi De’Tron, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey really began in Lakeland, Florida, where I grew up as a flamboyant Black boy in a small town that didn’t always understand or accept who I was. I was teased, judged, and constantly made to feel like I had to shrink myself to fit in—but deep down, I always knew there was something more for me.

When I moved to Atlanta, everything shifted. I started to find myself and realized I didn’t need validation to take up space. Atlanta gave me permission to be bold, to explore, and to evolve into the confident person I am today. I began sharing my life online—nervous at first, knowing I was opening myself up to the opinions of millions—but I pushed through the fear. I stopped performing for approval and started showing up authentically.

There were moments of doubt, times when I felt overlooked, unsupported, or misunderstood. But I kept going. I turned criticism into motivation and made a choice to embrace my inner ‘baddie’—the unapologetic, confident, purpose-driven version of myself. I realized I was an acquired taste, and that was okay. I stopped people-pleasing and started walking in my truth, attracting the people and opportunities aligned with my purpose.

Today, I use my platform to inspire others to be confident, take up space, and stop waiting for permission to be great. My story is still being written, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come—and even more excited for what’s next.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road—but every bump shaped me into who I am today.

There were times when I felt completely alone in my journey. Growing up, I constantly faced judgment for simply being myself. I was told I was “too much,” and for a while, I believed it. That mindset followed me into adulthood, especially when I started putting myself out there online. The comparison game was real. I’d see others blowing up while I was struggling to find my voice and community.

On top of that, I battled with self-doubt and imposter syndrome—wondering if I was really good enough, or if anyone even cared about what I had to say. And let’s not forget those moments when I felt unsupported, especially by people I thought would cheer me on. It hurt, but it also lit a fire in me.

One of the biggest challenges was learning how to stay consistent and confident when the results weren’t immediate. I had to shift my mindset from needing external validation to doing things because they aligned with my purpose. I also had to reframe criticism—it wasn’t always hate; sometimes it was hidden admiration.

So no, the road hasn’t been smooth, but every detour taught me something. Every struggle helped me build resilience, clarity, and confidence. And now, I show up knowing that my story is helping someone else own theirs.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a digital content creator, confidence coach, and the author of Bite-Sized Greatness – Volume 1: Confidence Edition. My work is rooted in helping people tap into their power, build unshakable confidence, and show up as their full selves—unapologetically and without waiting for permission.

Through content creation, personal storytelling, and motivational resources, I aim to shift the way people view confidence. It’s not about perfection or designer labels—it’s about knowing your worth, owning your story, and taking up space. I’m known for my bold energy, authenticity, and the way I blend empowerment with real-life relatability. Whether I’m sharing a vulnerable moment or hyping someone up, my goal is always the same: to remind people that they are already enough.

I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with amazing brands like Peloton, Thayers Skincare, and Kiehl’s—brands that align with my mission of wellness, self-care, and showing up for yourself inside and out. I’m especially proud of my ebook Bite-Sized Greatness, which breaks confidence down into digestible steps, helping readers build themselves up one powerful moment at a time.

What sets me apart is that I don’t just speak about confidence—I live it. I’ve taken my personal journey, the highs and the struggles, and turned it into a movement. I don’t perform perfection—I share the process. And that realness? It’s what makes people feel seen, inspired, and ready to own their greatness too.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is from my years as a track athlete. From kindergarten all the way through high school, I was one of the fastest runners in my district, and I racked up a lot of medals along the way. I remember the feeling of crossing the finish line and knowing I had pushed myself to the limit, especially when I’d come out on top. There was something so empowering about that.

Track taught me so much about discipline, perseverance, and what it means to compete with heart—not just to win, but to give everything I had. Even though I was one of the fastest, I always had my eyes on improvement, not perfection. Every race was a new opportunity to prove to myself how far I could go.

Looking back, those early victories laid the foundation for the confidence and resilience I carry with me today. Whether in a race or in life, I’ve always believed that it’s not just about the medals—it’s about showing up and giving your all, no matter what.
