Today we’d like to introduce you to Momma-Palooza.
Hi Momma-Palooza, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
How did we get started?…
We were a group of friends who had a heart to serve and wanted to do something really special for our community. We were all business owners. This community has been so supportive to all of us. We wanted to support our community the way our community supported us in our entrepreneurial careers.
When the concept of a mom themed event hit the conversation, we all instantly and unanimously agreed that this was a project we could create with love and genuine joy. Momma-Palooza is a passion project created for moms by moms to showcase resources, businesses, and products from the community we love to an audience who doesn’t nearly the recognition they deserve… MOMS. Why? Because strong moms make strong families make a strong community.
Momma-Palooza is a FREE community event.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been easy but it has always been worth it. We have always kept our mission at the forefront of everything we do. When we stay mission focused and driven, we stay unstoppable and strong. Our team is made of moms who are entrepreneurs that are successful business owners and that’s a personality combination for unwavering faith, unstoppable drive, a “never quit” attitude, and more creativity than you can imagine. We have delt with every obstacles as a team. Our team has had it’s ups and downs just like any other organization. But being a united front, supporting each other, and having each others backs has been the “thing” that has kept us together.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Something we are know for that is different than others would be our Non-Profit of Choice (NPoC). Every year, we choose a local Non-Profit to showcase at Momma-Palooza. The NPoC receives a free booth, a page in our magazine, and many other perks including 100% of the proceeds from the silent auction during Momma-Palooza. Our Non-Profit of Choice this year is Hope Floats. Hope Floats has partnered with the British Swim School to provide swim lessons for children who can not financially afford them. Swim lessons save lives! Drowning is the #1 cause of death in children under 5 AND Harris County is ranked #1 in the state of Texas for drowning under the age of 5. All of the proceeds from this years silent auction will go to swim lesson scholarships.
Our event is 100% MOM focused. In everything we do from the vendors, to the activities, to the entertainment and food, is for the MOMS. Yes, there are so many different kinds of moms. Type A moms, unicorn moms, almond moms, military mamas, homeschool moms, and the list goes on. But the core of motherhood unites us all. We have fun things for all the different kinds of moms like a Mom-mosa bar, craft station, and bingo. We offer resources for moms that celebrate the connections we share—from women’s health and breastfeeding to foreign exchange programs and adoption.(vendors that joined us last year). We do have kids entertainment because… well… moms have kiddos and we want moms to be able to enjoy the event as long as possible. When the kids are happy, moms are happy.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to us is creating an event where moms can feel reenergized, fulfilled, confident, and empowered. Strong moms make strong families and strong families make strong communities..
The vendors matter a lot to us. We are grateful and humbled by the amazing vendors we have come to know over the past years. As an organization, we KNOW the vendors are the ones who make the event worth attending. When we make our vendor packages and sponsorship packages, we always ask ourselves “What else can we give?”. We want our vendors an sponsors to get the biggest bang for their buck and we want them to walk away with a big impact on their target audience. If they aren’t successful, we aren’t successful.
I want to give a special shout out to Make It Pop by Hawk. She has supported our organization for years and we are blessed to know her.
