For as long as I can remember, animals have held a special place in my heart. That lifelong love turned into a career when I landed my first job at a big box pet store, where I learned the foundational skills of pet care. It was there that I began to understand the responsibility and reward that comes with working closely with animals every day.
Wanting to deepen my understanding, I enrolled in vet tech school. There, I gained a solid education in animal health and welfare, diving into the medical side of care and spending time working in shelters. I took pride in learning everything I could about our furry companions, driven by a genuine desire to help them live healthier, happier lives.
At home, I’d occasionally groom my own dogs—and that’s where something clicked. What started as a casual chore turned into a true passion: grooming. I went through basic grooming training, but soon realized I wanted more. I needed to follow this passion further.
I connected with grooming communities online and met some truly incredible people. I was introduced to trade shows, advanced grooming classes, and even got a few one-on-one lessons. Thanks to the support and the guidance of others in the grooming world, I found my footing—and my calling.
In time, my business began to grow within the Greater Houston area. I opened a salon in the vibrant Houston Heights neighborhood to add to my thriving mobile grooming units so I could better serve the community. I’ve since built a team of talented, passionate groomers who share the same commitment to excellence and care.
Of course, the road hasn’t always been smooth. Like any entrepreneur, I’ve faced my share of challenges. But through every high and low, I’ve stayed determined to find a way forward. My family and friends have been my rock—cheering me on, offering help, and reminding me why I started in the first place.
Today, I’m proud of the work we do. Whether it’s a mobile appointment or a visit to our salon, our mission remains the same: to help every pet we care for look and feel their very best. And as we continue to grow, I hope to keep bringing love, care, and a touch of style to Houston’s beloved pets.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Running a mobile grooming business sounds like a dream—cruising from client to client, bringing convenience and care straight to their doorstep. But behind the scenes, it comes with a unique set of challenges that many don’t see.
One of the biggest hurdles has been keeping the mobile units on the road. Vehicle and generator maintenance can be relentless. From unexpected breakdowns to ongoing repairs, finding skilled and trustworthy mechanics who understand the urgency of keeping a business running is no small task. When your livelihood depends on mobility, every day off the road feels like a step back.
Staffing has also been a journey in itself. It takes more than just skill to be a great groomer—it takes compassion, patience, and a strong work ethic. Finding groomers who not only excel at their craft but also share my values and vision for the business has been a challenge, but it’s made all the difference when the right people come along.
And then there’s the matter of space. Finding the perfect location for a brick-and-mortar salon—one that feels welcoming, fits the brand, and serves the right community—isn’t easy. It took time, persistence, and more than a few missteps before landing in the heart of the Houston Heights, a neighborhood that now feels like home.
These struggles have tested me in ways I never expected. But with every challenge has come growth, and with every setback, a new opportunity to learn and build something stronger.
