Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Beckham.
Hi Jamie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It all really started back in college when I knew I wanted to be in the event industry and do something creative. Social media was nowhere near what it is today, and funny enough, the job I have now didn’t even exist back then. I originally thought I wanted to be a wedding planner—I took a few classes, worked in the wedding industry right after college, and quickly realized that working weekends just wasn’t for me. Which is hilarious looking back, because now I pretty much work every single weekend.
During college, I also discovered my love for content creation. I started a fashion and lifestyle blog, which led me into the world of digital content. That passion grew, and in 2020, I took the leap and left my full-time job to pursue my business full-time. Fast forward to 2024, I started seeing wedding content creators pop up on my Instagram feed, and it just clicked—this was the dream job I never knew existed! It was everything I loved—capturing content, storytelling, and being part of one of the most special days in someone’s life—all rolled into one.
I started associate shooting for a well-known wedding content creator, and by June 2024, I officially launched Your Day By Jamie. Almost a year later, I’ve had the honor of capturing over 40 events – weddings, gender reveals, birthday parties, pregnancy announcements, you name it. If it’s a moment worth remembering, I want to be there to capture it. And it’s not just me anymore! We now have a team of three amazing associates, and we’re growing even more this year.
At Your Day By Jamie, we truly do it all. While weddings are a big part of what we do, we’re here for any event our clients want captured. Because at the end of the day, it’s all about preserving those real, once-in-a-lifetime moments, and I feel so lucky to call this my job.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I feel really lucky that I saw interest right away when launching Your Day By Jamie and booked my first wedding shortly after. Even though I wouldn’t call myself a perfectionist, I’m definitely the type of person who, once I start something, goes all in and gives it everything I’ve got. From day one, I made it a priority to connect with as many vendors as possible, post consistently, and really put my name out there while building my business.
One of the biggest struggles for me as a business owner has been the comparison game—and honestly, it’s something I still have to work on. The wedding industry is full of incredibly talented people, and while I’ve been lucky to make so many amazing friends through my business, I’ve also caught myself comparing my success and timeline to others in the same space. It’s easy to look around and wonder if you’re doing enough or growing fast enough.
That said, I’m so grateful to be part of the Houston wedding and creative community. It’s such a supportive and collaborative space where we share ideas, tips, and even bookings, which I know isn’t always the case in other industries or cities. Having people who genuinely root for each other makes such a difference.
At the end of the day, I always remind myself—my business is my own. Someone else’s success doesn’t take away from mine. We’re all on our own paths, and as long as I’m showing up, putting in the work, and staying true to my vision, I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.

What I’m most proud of is the incredible connections my business has brought me and the love stories we’ve had the honor of documenting. Knowing we’ve given our couples and clients something to look back on forever is the most rewarding part of what we do.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
There are so many incredible people in my life who deserve all the credit! I’m beyond lucky to have the best friends, parents, and boyfriend—my biggest cheerleaders—who support me in every way. One of my best friends even gifted me my full creative logo suite and went on to design my website, which was such a special gift. They’re always shouting me out on Instagram, leaving reviews, and even booking me for their own life moments. They’ve been my soundboard when things get tough and the first to hype me up and celebrate every major milestone with me.
I also have to give a huge shoutout to my associate team—without them, I wouldn’t have been able to say yes to so many incredible events. Their talent, dedication, and passion help bring Your Day By Jamie to life in ways I couldn’t do alone.
And honestly, one of the most unexpected but amazing parts of this journey has been the friendships I’ve made with other business owners. The support within this community means everything—every review, every booking, every Instagram tag—it all goes such a long way, and I’m forever grateful!
